The location of this property is within walking distance to the Mater Hospital in Waratah (10 mins), the University of Newcastle (30 mins) and the bustling hub of Hamilton (30 mins). This area is just off the M1 on the northern side of Newcastle.
This is a single room, so is only suitable for one person. Now catering for business people so if you are in Newcastle on business, let me know how I can help make your journey easier. It might be a breakfast package or an unusual check in time. Unlimited internet now available.
As you are welcomed into the house, you are made to feel at home right from the beginning. The kitchen is equipped with a suite of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery so that you can prepare and cook your meals if wanted. There is plenty of room in the cupboard and fridge to store your essential items.
After taking a hot shower, sink into one of the most comfortable lounge chairs or sit out on the back deck with a book, a drink and unwind for the day. You might like to stream your favourite shows using the unlimited NBN wifi.
The location is ideal for those who want to be close to the city centre. Catch the bus, train or cycle into the beaches for a swim or to explore the cafe and restaurant areas of Honeysuckle, Darby Street or Beaumont Street. For those who want to shop till they drop, the 100 bus is an easy ride to the Charlestown Square shopping centre.
If you prefer cycling, Newcastle now has an expanding network of cycleways so it is an easy cycle into the foreshore and the city (mostly flat), to the University or out to Redhead (hills involved).
The house is opposite a train line and the trains mostly run through the day so there is train noise as expected in such a location.
You have access to all common areas. There is also a second toilet which is the guest toilet. Outside on the deck is a nice deck to sit and read. A bar b que is available, as long as it is cleaned afterwards.

Even though I work full time, I am available for any questions that you may have about Newcastle and surrounds. I can assist with planning what to do and where to go around Newcastle and the surrounding area, or even further afield.
I love Newcastle and would like my guests to have a fabulous experience here as well.
Please read and understand this:
The airconditioning is only available in common areas when it is required ie when it is too hot or in the winter months for heating. There is a fan in your room and when the door of the room is left open, the cool/warm air filters into the room.
As the washing machine has a large capacity, it is only available for a full load where guests will be staying for more than 4 nights. You will need to ask to use the washing machine beforehand and we can possibly combine a load with my washing.
The shower is over the bath and this is for shower use only.
Sometimes my daughter stays for a night here and there.
I hope you can feel relaxed in this space, however, as it is a small house, I would request that there be no use of the bathroom or kitchen after 11:00pm as this is quiet time.
Your bedroom should not be used to store food or for eating food. There is plenty of room in the house for this.
If you are planning on cooking, you must clean the kitchen space you used and wash, dry and put away any crockery and cutlery used.
Wet clothing and towels must not be hung in your room as this creates an odour that is unpleasant.
It is also appreciated that guests remove any hair in the bathroom after they have finished using the shower and basin.
The washing machine is only available for large loads and those staying for 4 days or more. Please ask if you would like to use the washing machine and we can combine a load. It is not available to use each night or as you wish.
Guest should vacate by midday on the departure day. If this is not suitable, please discuss with me directly before booking.

Hi, I grew up in Newcastle and after about 8 years of living elsewhere, I came back with my family. It's a great place to live, being close to the ocean as well as the Hunter Valley and Sydney. I find it easy to get around, and I always say that when driving in Newcastle, you can go about 5 different routes and still get to your destination in good time.
I find living in Mayfield very easy and I do a lot of walking and the occasional bike ride. I also sing in a community choir that performs at Folk Festivals, May Day and other local events.
I love travelling like many people. One of my recent and most favourite trips was the Trans Mongolian~Trans Siberian train journey across Russia. The train and its people, the landscape, food, talking, listening to podcasts, dreaming, taking photos, singing, laughing, it was such a wonderful trip. My wish list for the future is to take a trip to the Galapagos Islands with my daughter. She has an interest in animals and when travelling with someone who has specific knowledge, it gives more meaning to the experience.
