Nestled in Crown Hill just north of Ballard, this modern, light-filled house with private yard offers easy access to Seattle's many neighborhoods. It features beautiful gardens, generous cable package, & easy street parking. Carkeek Park nearby!
Expect a clean and cared for environment for your stay in Seattle. In return, I ask that you please be respectful of the house and the neighborhood.
Here are some specifics:
Do not dispose of grease down the drain. It solidifies in the
pipes and causes clogs, requiring expensive plumbing repairs. Rather, use
an aluminum can or plastic container once the grease has cooled down,
and toss it in the trash.
Do not dispose of coffee grounds, bones, or other hard objects in the garbage disposal. It may result in costly repairs or total replacement of the disposal. If you aren’t sure, please just use the compost bin or the trash bin.
Do not cut food directly on the countertops.
Do not dispose of feminine products, baby wipes, or paper
towels down the toilet. Any of these can lead to a toilet disaster very
quickly! Use one of the waste baskets instead.
No cigarette smoking is allowed anywhere on the property, including the back yard. Cannabis use is legal for people over 21 years old, and allowed in the back yard only. No smoking of any kind allowed inside the house.
Make sure the flue is open and glass doors stay open while
using the fireplace. Sweep up any debris that falls onto the floor.
Set the thermostat to whatever temperature is most
comfortable to you! If you turn on the air conditioning, however, please
make sure the windows and doors are closed.
Please do not wear shoes in the house- it's a Seattle thing! (Bringing slippers is a great idea).
Please lock the doors and windows and turn off lights when you leave for the day.
Be considerate of noise levels, especially after 9 pm.
Do not park in the driveway. Street parking in front of or immediately near the house is free and ample. Most of the time there are two spaces in front of the house.
Let me know if something is not working properly.
In general, treat the house the way you would want others to treat yours!
House trained pets are considered for an extra $25 per night, per pet fee, 2 pets max, with $250 per pet as a max price for 10 days or more. Please tell me about your pets. Pets require extra cleaning and maintenance, so I hope guests understand the reason for these extra fees.
There are 3 beds: a queen and two XL twins. There is also a couch that folds flat, so if you need an extra bed, that will accommodate one person. An extra person is possible for $30 extra per night. Please let me know so I can provide extra sheets and blankets.
Thank you and as always, reach out with any questions at all!
Originally from Chicago, I have adapted to my last ten years in Seattle by exploring the many neighborhoods the city has to offer and getting out of the city for hiking whenever possible. My chihuahua Annabelle is usually by my side, and is very good at finding sun spots whenever they appear (this is Seattle, yes, but they do appear!). I'm amazed by how many new restaurants and bars have opened in the last couple of years, and like to try new spots whenever possible; having said that, as a vegan I do have my favorites. I have an art background and enjoy visiting the SAM, and also like to bob my head with the rest of the crowd at many of Seattle's many music venues. In the summer I like to spend a few weekends on exploring one of the islands (Orcas Island is the best hidden secret of Washington). I volunteer at the local animal shelter, am a huge fan of innovative design, and sometimes can be found on a yoga mat.
If you're looking for things to do while you are in town, here are a few suggestions:
Favorite Thai place: Jai Thai in Fremont
Favorite breakfast spot: SunLight Cafe on Roosevelt and 65th
Favorite New-Agey store: East-West book store
Best Theater for independent films: Guild 45 theater in Wallingford
Favorite music venue: Showbox at the Market
Favorite neighborhood for lively night-life: Capitol Hill
Favorite yoga studio: 8 Limbs
Favorite hiking area for moderate hiking: Darrington, North Cascades. (Try Boulder River for a scenic drive and nice day hike).
Favorite challenging hike: Mount Pilchuck
As a host, I mostly like to offer the house and yard in great shape and let you enjoy your stay on your terms. If you need or want help or suggestions, please reach out by text or whenever you see me out and about. I have a pretty quick response time whenever possible!
