Enjoy the Bayou's of Louisiana in style! Pull your boat right up to the dock! Have your first Crawfish boil on our patio and enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the pristine Bayou Liberty, part of the Big Branch National Wildlife Refuge.
The home is located directly on the Bayou with a very nice recently built "Party Deck"/Boat Dock with arbor for great little gatherings. The great thing is that it has multiple places for gathering for dinning, fun activities, and gathering with friends, from the Deck, to the Garage, to the back yard, to the patio with outdoor brick grill on the side. Its a great place to enjoy the quite serene beauty of the bayou while being close enough drive to New Orleans (25 miles away) to have fun in the big city!
Complete access to the home except our downstairs lockout for supplies.

Its a rarity we have to be contacted after check-in since the home amenities speak for themselves, yet the same level of response is given after check-in as during your booking processes. We make sure we are always available to answer any questions no matter how small they might be.
The up side to renting a home is that its usually quite a bit cheaper than a hotel especially for larger groups. Vacation Homes offer a great deal of amenities that hotels don't. However, if your a homeowner yourself, you know that a home is a constant project. Add to that, people who don't treat your home very well and you have a variety of constant updates to the property. While we do absolutely everything we possibly can to keep the home in as perfect condition as possible, it may occasionally happen that a previous renter damaged something that is in need of repair, or that a door handle needs screwing in. Please understand that these small things are just part of renting a home. They are always correctly promptly when possible. However, nothing will be allowed to interfere with your comfort or your stay. If, however, there is something that needs attention during your stay, please always communicate with us and we will work to resolve anything we can very promptly.
We as the owners are avid travelers ourselves. We treat others homes as we would like our guests to treat ours. We ask the same of all our guests. We aren't a large corporation with multiple units. This is our only rental so we ask that you take care of it. Please enjoy it completely, and have all the fun you want. But please treat it like you would want yours to be treated. The only major thing we ask is there be no smoking inside the home, garage or decks. Smoking is allowed outside on the patios only and as long as Cigarette butts are disposed of in the trash.
There is only one designated parking area yet it can fit multiple cars. We have estimated that it can fit 9 cars comfortably but up to 12 or 13 packed in. We don't suggest that... but it can be done. The only thing we ask is that you don't pull over the parking landscaping stones into the grass. Parking isn't allowed on the grass anywhere as it causes major ruts and of course, destroys the landscaping stones.
The home is somewhat secluded from any nearby homes with the exception of one that's roughly an acre or more away. We ask that if you do play music, please be mindful of that neighbor. Surprisingly, in 6 years, shes never complained once. So that's a good sign!!
While we do charge for cleaning after your stay, this covers all major cleaning. There are some basics you are still responsible for such as bagging your trash, turning lights off, locking the doors, etc. A Cleaning checklist is provided for you before exit so we just ask that those items are completed before your exit, the document is signed and left on the kitchen island.
Checkout time is 10:00 so please be mindful of the cleaners schedule. However, if there are no other bookings that day, we can sometimes be lenient on that. Please request in advance if you would like to stay longer.
Besides that... ENJOY!!
I live in Destin, Florida and am an avid surfer, paddleboarder, and diver. Salt runs through my veins. I work in the audio video business but have this home as my only rental and do everyting i can to keep it super clean and very welcoming to all my guests. It was a home that practically destroyed by huricane Katrina, but rebuilt soon thereafter. Not knowing what to do about the large note i owed on it, one day, years after the storm, i realized i should take advantage of this beautiful spot on the water that i still owned. I put a bunch of money into new furniture and decorations, and its been rented out for vacation rentals ever since. Turns out, people love the area for reunions, fishing vacations, relaxing and all of the above. Not to mention, being so close to New Orleans that its perfect to visit the city but still enjoy the calm of living on the bayous of Louisiana.
I pride myself on being very responsive as a host and even responding within minutes (when possible) from my smart phone.
While I am new to Airbnb, I have over 25 - 5 Star reviews on other platforms so i can wait to build my reviews on Airbnb as well.
I do everything possible to make sure my home is clean and tidy so hopefully you will enjoy the location as well as the amenities of the home!
