romantic modernized Thai-style wooden house with many original teak features in large grounds with swimming pool and small lakes. Quiet and cooler country living amid flowers, plants, grass and trees provides a haven from the bustle of the town.
Inspired by the Jim Thompson house originally, our house evolved. Hard- wood floors upstairs, original eighty year old teak wall panels and concertina-doors dividing the upstairs space. Tall vaulted wooden ceilings, original shuttered windows but with modern screens. Old wooden furniture. East and South-facing long balconies overlooking gardens.
Large grounds and entire detached house other than small under-stairs store room and an upstairs small bedroom. The 8 by 4 meter pool is shared, but we use it little except to cool down a bit in March and April when it gets hotter.
The lakes contain some fish and many different coloured water lillies

We live in detached Thai wooden house some 30 meters away. We will always be available to help, either in person or by phone or (website hidden). Thai, English and German spoken. Quiet 12 year-old son usually at school or on his computer. We have 2 cars in case of emergencies. We respect your privacy. Tall hedge adds privacy to front gardens, which are kept neater than the rest of the natural park (not jungle)!
Good road access from Bangkok or the South. No need to drive through Hua Hin town. We are some 12 km West of town. Good road access locally. Few Western-style restaurants nearby although the golf course restaurant is only 3km away. A small local shop sells cold drinks, ice and daytime delicious hot pork noodles. Initial welcome pack of essentials (water, coffee, tea, milk, cereal, fruit or juice).
No smoking anywhere on the property please! Not suitable for partying.
We love our house and hope you will too. Sorry no pets.
Retired early from medical imaging technology career, started a new life and family in Thailand. Cosmopolitan with wide interests. Reasonable library here. Both Joy and I cook, so we eat Thai and "foreign" food, usually at home. Jacob eats both as well. If i had a life motto, thanks to Mr Spock it would be "Live Long and Prosper" which i wish to all family, friends and visitors. Never a dull moment, no lack of home entertainment with family, internet, books, movies and TV. Very interested in current affairs, but happy not to discuss them. After visiting 26 countries in my younger days, i travel little but promised Joy and Jacob we will, time and resources permitting.
