Quiet, cozy, clean room in a queer, feminist, anti-racist home in Toronto's gorgeous Annex district. Close to subway, U of T, downtown. Room includes a pillow-top queen mattress, dresser, and desk, as well as shared use of living room, kitchen, and bathroom. There is a window a/c unit in the room for your convenience during the hot Toronto summers.
This bright, cozy room (9'x11') comes equipped with a comfortable queen-sized pillow top mattress, a desk, and dresser. The room faces west onto a quiet, residential street and gets lots of light during the day.
Your room is located in a 2-bedroom flat on the second floor of a large Annex house. In addition to your room, the apartment features a living room with a 55" television (no cable TV, but I have hookups to connect your laptop as well as a DVD player), dining nook, a large kitchen, and a small, full 4-piece bathroom. There is also a large backyard for use in the non-winter months.
The flat is one of three units in a house built in the early 1900s that has been converted into apartments. As such, the apartment has some quirky features. This is not an appropriate space for those looking for an upscale, recently renovated unit or hotel-like accommodations. My home is a great place, however, for those looking for a residential, quiet, clean accommodation in a lovely, central Toronto neighborhood.
Guests have full access to the living room, kitchen, and bathroom in addition to the room. I'm fairly introverted and spend a lot of time in my room. I may occasionally hang out in the living room and/or work during the day or socialize in the early evening, but most of the time the living room will be yours to enjoy!
You are welcome to cook in the kitchen and use the fridge, just please clean up after yourself when you are done. The kitchen comes equipped with an electric stove, microwave, coffee maker and all other basic necessities.
I also have a large book collection, which you are welcome to peruse while you are here, and there is dry cleaner that offers "wash and fold" for $1 per pound nearby if you need to do laundry.

You'll be sharing this quirky apartment full of Annex charm with me, a queer woman and Toronto-based independent filmmaker. I'm quiet and clean, but also relaxed and easy-going. I'm happy to chat and offer tips for things to do in the neighborhood, but I'm also an introvert and spend a lot of time working or by myself. Happy to socialize when I am hanging out in common spaces. And I'm always available if you need anything!
The TV does not have cable hooked up, but I have an HDMI cable (and Mac dongle) so that you can easily connect your laptop to watch movies.
Accessibility info: There are 5 steps to the front porch, and this flat is on the second floor of a converted house. The bathroom is small and quirky: the bathtub/shower is regular sized, but is accessed via an approximately 1.5 foot entry way between the wall and tub. There are no pets, and this is a low/no-scent household.
This is a feminist, LGBT friendly, anti-racist household. Everyone welcome.
