Married to my high school sweetheart Perez for 30 years, I am a 54 year old Banker getting very close to retirement. We have 2 beautiful daughters who are almost out of our nest, but we continue to enjoy good family times together, especially in Exuma. Early in our marriage, we visited Exuma for a getaway and could not absorb all its beauty and innocence all at once. We had to do it again. Going back several years later with our two little girls, we could not believe how quickly they were drawn to its beauty and the freedom of the beach life. No longer was mom holding their hands tight, or protecting them; they could run free on the beaches, pick up shells and sand dollars, snorkel to see the small "fisheys", this was living. We prepared picnic baskets and spent hours on the beach. We then decided that instead of spending on time-share, we could invest in our own vacation home where we could come and enjoy for years to come. In 1995 we purchased the land and when the girls were finished school, decided to build Missing Jewel to enjoy more quiet vacation times. While we reside in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, we do not spend enough time as we would like at Missing Jewel since we are not yet retired, so we have decided to share our space so that others can enjoy good quiet times with their families like we have. Why should we be selfish and keep this Jewel to ourselves. Our daughters have grown to appreciate island and beach life and our vacation trips have bonded our family so greatly. Why not spread the love. We have 5 more years until retirement, so now is the time for you to enjoy it before we move there permanently.
