Our family of 2 adults and 3 young children live in another house in the village 50 metres away and are available for all help, suggestions you might need from babysitters, activity advice or even private jet hire if you want to do serious shopping. as around us there are no night clubs nor high fashion shops.
Heating is an issue that is important to understand. The water is all heated by electricity but the radiators controlled centrally by a thermostat are heated through an Aga, which is a solid iron cooker that is powered by wood. We provide the wood and can even feed the Aga with wood either when you are away or all the time but this will impinge on your privacy as we need to enter the house. In the height of winter wood needs to be put in every 3 hours during the day, although not at night. The house has 3 foot thick walls and heat rentention is good with all windows double-glazed, so missing a feed or two is not serious but the average heat level will slowly decline.
Heating is generally needed from around mid October to mid April, although initially feeding is on a lower frequency than every 3 hours.
Sorry if you don't like this approach but it is the ecological option that we value, despite its slight inconvenience.
Sorry no smoking nor animals as its important for the future guests, also no parties.
If you meet the neighbours please be nice, this is a lovely village with friendly helpful people and respect of everyone's space is important.
Upon departure we expect you to leave the house reasonably clean or if you prefer pay a cleaning option of €200.
