Our good friend Shirley will look after you on our behalf. She will meet you and if you need anything she will be able to pop and help.
Although we have 3 bedrooms and the double sofa bed downstairs plus a z-bed we prefer letting to couples, friends holidaying together and family groups please. We do not host 6 adults for one night only in high season. We have been told our stairs are easier to climb for older people as they are shallow treads and have a hand rail plus bannister rail. Children are most welcome and there is a small selection of DVDS, a PS 2 with a few games and some board games. We have a high chair but no cot; if you are going to bring a baby you must please bring your own cot. It is not acceptable for babies to sleep in our beds. Two small well behaved dogs are welcome- please keep them off the furniture and pick up after them in the garden and place doggy bags in the rubbish bin. Please do not leave dogs unattended at all in our home. Thank you.
Please treat our house as your home! It's not a party house.
Up to two well behaved small dogs welcome and please don't leave the dog in the cottage alone at all. Please be sure to pick up after them in the garden.
It's a strictly no smoking house please. We use the side door.
In the winter the heating is on a timer which has been set to come on 6-10am and then 4-11pm. If you require extra heating other than at the times set, there will be an extra charge. Please contact me to discuss this. Likewise you are welcome to use the gas fire in the evenings in the lounge but if you wish to use it more often than a couple of hours per day then there will be an extra charge so please contact us. We have included the cost for the use of the central heating in the morning and evening only- it goes off overnight and after 10am in the morning. Please do not change the central heating controls without contacting us first. In winter we usually also put the heating on for a few hours before you arrive to warm the house for you.
Please leave the house as you find it, clean and tidy. Please use the outside rubbish and recycling bins as labelled for your waste and divide it correctly or the council won't empty the bins. Please don't take food upstairs. Please don't move any furniture about including the beds. Please do not put anything on the fireplace or hearth eg. laptops or cables. Please use chopping boards to protect the kitchen worktop- there are lots provided! Please clean pots and pans directly after use. You can put them in the dishwasher.
If you want to totally relax on your break we can recommend a cleaner to come to clean and change bedlinen and towells as often as you choose at your cost, payable to her directly.
Feel free to use everything you see, if you use something up please replace it. The bread and milk is a complimentary gift to settle you in! Please feel free to make drinks too.
We have neighbours with young children who go to bed around 8pm so please be considerate and keep noise down after then.
We also have elderly neighbours who have trouble backing out of their drives opposite so please park considerately. Thank you.
If you want to finish a book please feel free to take it and post it back if it's part of a set or leave another of similar value in its place!
Similarly if you break something please let me know and I can tell you where to buy a replacement. I appreciate my things and you are welcome to use them but not take them out of the house or away please. If you break something or cause some damage please call me directly. I appreciate that we all have accidents sometimes. Thank you.
I love spending time at our cottage with my family and two little Border terriers... We love Fife, Edinburgh and the Trossachs and find Rosyth the perfect spot to enjoy both town, sea and country plus usually great weather! We love spending time here for festivals, historic exploring, mountain tours and wonderful silver sand beaches! We're pretty relaxed and love people, children and dogs! Our home is down to earth and comfy and exudes warmth and calm... That's what we like!
