Join Hollywood stars and royalty in discovering the Caribbean’s most celebrated estate home, Roaring Pavilion THEE Divine Villa.A pampering spa, dazzling décor, full staff and heavenly location on James Bond Beach are part of its seduction.
This is the beach where they shot that scene from 1962’s Dr. No, with the original James Bond, Sean Connery, and the original Bond girl, Ursula Andress. In her iconic white bikini, Honey Ryder rises from the sea, shells in hand, singing “Underneath the Mango Tree.” Connery steps from behind cover and sings back in kind.
To protect her sea treasures, Ryder pulls knife from sheath and Bond tells her soothingly, “I can assure you my intentions are honorable.” The sizzling sexual undercurrent between the two tells you they aren’t entirely
On the day this movie scene was being shot, two local boys were hiding in the tropical undergrowth watching. The event made a permanent imprint on their adolescent imaginations, as did the loveliness of the location, where the Roaring River meets the sea in what is known today as “James Bond Beach” in St. Ann’s Parish, Jamaica.
The pair grew up, bought the property overlooking the beach and in 1995 built the magnificent Roaring Pavilion THEE Divine Villa as the ultimate luxury hideaway. Then they completely renovated it again in 2011.
Enter the Soaring Pavilion
If 007 and Honey Ryder were magically transported to the present day, they would pass through the villa’s electronic gate in an Aston Martin and park in in the courtyard. They would be greeted by Roaring Pavilion’s full staff of 13, all in livery. The butler would step forward and offer the striking couple two drinks on a silver tray.
Yes, they could be shaken not stirred martinis, or James could go with the island flow and enjoy rum punches.
Bond would rest his hand lightly in the small of Honey Ryder’s back and guide her through the villa’s high-peaked doorway, framed by Greek pillars, into a living space of more than 8,000 feet, with soaring ceilings, running water, a formal dining room, huge state-of-the-art entertainment spaces and plush furnishings created by Donghia, Philippe Starck and Christian Liagare.
They would be drawn irresistibly over a moat to the second pavilion, with billowing white curtains and outdoor dining area, offering panoramic views over stone decks, terraces and palm trees to the beach and sea below where the couple first met. It also overlooks the villa’s saltwater infinity pool, where Ms. Ryder is sure to reprise her famous white bikini.
Food for Body and Spirit
While they could dine anywhere– from the formal dining room to outdoor barbecue areas – the two opt for the outside pavilion and its views. Course after gourmet course will be served to them, prepared by the villa’s chef, Johanna Mitchell – a virtuoso who can create superb international menus or inspired local cuisine with the freshest of ingredients.
Music of course would be played throughout the meal via the villa-wide Bowers & Wilkins sound system. Both James and Honey would be feeling particularly mellow following a couple’s massage in the villa’s full-time spa, whose extensive treatment menu makes use of local botanicals. Their bodies beautiful would also pumped and ready after a session in the fitness centre, equipped withCybex cardio and weight-training machines.
Over dinner the two would plot their day tomorrow. A swim on the beach is a must. Then they may board a pair of the villa’s personal watercraft for a run up the coast to a restaurant on a cliff with sweeping water views. Or they might defer to Bond’s British roots and take a chauffer-driven trip to a private tea, hosted by local cultural personality Maxine Walters.
But what’s on the menu after dinner tonight? Bond and Ryder could check their (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) feeds through the villa-wide Wi-Fi, or retire for fun in the well-stocked games or home-theatre room. But, no, they are tired after an exhilarating day and decide to go to one of the four individually themed bedrooms, each with an ensuite marble bathroom stocked withLigne St. Barth products.
Holding Bond’s arm, Ryder bites him on the ear as they walk to the door and says, “Your intentions better be honorable. I also brought my knife with me.”

Hey, I’m Roy
Welcome to my home. Welcome to my Jamaica.
I am the head butler of Roaring Pavilion THEE Divine Villa, and have the best job on the island – making sure that our guests have a divine experience in the Caribbean’s loveliest villa.
I will call you before you come, to find out what delicacies our villa chef will prepare you.
Once you’re on the island, I am the one who runs things and ensures that your stay is perfect. I don’t do this with a whip, but a smile, a nod and a laugh. When you have the perfect combination of people and place, you just let things happen.
I can introduce you to some of the best that Jamaica has to offer – whether it’s a trip up the coast on your personal watercraft to a deserted cove for a champagne picnic, or a Sunday morning at clapboard church with a gospel choir’s united voice rising to the heavens.
If you want the privacy to explore the joys of Roaring Pavilion on your own, I will withdraw and ensure that things work quietly in the background to support your experience.
You may get up for an early morning beach walk to find fresh mango juice and hot Blue Mountain coffee waiting outside your door. Or you could go for a swim on James Bond Beach and come back to find a chaise longue, towel and cooler of drinks waiting for you in the shade of tree on the white sand.
In my house, only your pleasure matters.
