I stayed at daniel’s condo from april 26 to may 24 2017. my rent was $30.18 usd per night for an entire place to myself. this is a very inexpensive place to stay in in montreal. it would not be fair to compare this with other airbnb accommodations costing more or to expect the same amenities that those places offer. the condo is on the third floor of a triplex. it was clean upon arrival. the free, full size washer and dryer are on the first floor. there is also a vacuum cleaner, brooms and dustpans in the laundry room. the following items were available to use: glasses, coffee mugs, plates, bowls, silverware, cooking utensils, chef knife, cutting boards, skillet, saucepan, casserole, toaster, tea kettle, italian coffee maker, two burner stovetop, microwave oven, mid-size refrigerator with freezer, salt and pepper shakers, coffee, tea, sugar, paper towels, toilet tissue, kleenex, sponges, rags, glass cleaner, comet cleanser, rubber gloves, dish soap, hand soap, dish cloths, floor sweeper with refills, trash bags, dust pan/brush, dryer sheets, laundry detergent, iron, hand vacuum, cloth shopping bags, wood hangers, blankets, pillows, bath towels, hand towels, hair dryer, umbrella and an oscillating tower fan. all you need to bring are your own shampoo, bar soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, razor and shaving cream. water pressure is adjustable on the shower head, however, the lower setting is so low it is not really useful. at the higher setting with the water at a normal showering temperature, the hot water is gone in about 12 MINUTES. I suggest you employ the strategy of a “navy shower” or you will most likely run out of hot water before you finish showering. the tv has three local channels but does have a built in dvd player if you have your own dvds. wifi is shared with another tenant in the building. the modem is not in daniel’s condo. wifi works as well as you would imagine under those circumstances (move closer to the front door). the bed is a murphy bed that is very comfortable.
there is quite a bit of storage/closet space everywhere, windows that open in both the main area and the bathroom and plenty of mirrors. the other tenants in the building are friendly and very quiet. the neighborhood isn’t much to look at but seems to be very safe. despite there being numerous ant traps around the condo, I encountered a total of 27 carpenter ants from april 27 to may 24. I believe daniel is the type of host who would address any problems or issues he may be made aware of. I think he sincerely tries his best to be a good host. I suggest you contact him, ask a lot of questions, then decide for yourself if his place is right for you.
