The Blackberry Cottage (Codice 011015-LT-0766) is a country-side villa for rent, strategically located between the Cinque Terre and the Gulf of the Poets.
It consists of a 17th century tower, in which 4 bedrooms are distributed on 3 floors, and an 18th century single storey extension, which incorporates the open kitchen, the dining area and a small sitting area next to the fireplace.
The well maintaned terraced garden outside offers a beautiful natural extension of the cottage.

If you are wanting to explore the beauty and atmosphere of the Gulf of the Poets and the Cinque Terre National Park, Blackberry Cottage is the perfect “agriturismo” location for visiting this corner of paradise between Tuscany and Liguria, arguably the most beautiful regions in Italy.
A holiday at Blackberry Cottage will give you the opportunity to visit, by car, by train, by boat or on foot the wonderful Cinque Terre villages and the jewels enshrined in the Gulf of La Spezia: Portovenere, Lerici, Tellaro and Fiascherino. Add in the surroundings, places of historical interest and local dishes, you have the ingredients for an unforgetable holiday.
If you love being near the seaside and walking, Blackberry Cottage will enchant you. From the terrace every morning over breakfast you can enjoy the fantastic panoramic view over the Poets’ Gulf. Full of energy, walkers can then set out towards Riomaggiore or Portovenere following the marked hiking paths, one of which starts just from outside the house. Bird-watchers will be enchanted too. But if you prefer to take it easy and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, we suggest you relax in a deck chair on one of the terraces in the garden.
The Blackberry Cottage consists of a 17th century tower, in which are 4 bedrooms on three floors, and an 18th century single storey extension, which incorporates kitchen, dining area and a small sitting area next to an open fireplace. It can sleep up to 8, distributed in two double bedrooms and two bedrooms each with robust pine bunk beds. There are also a newly refurbished bathroom and a small bathroom at the first floor. It is ideally suited for two couples with children, or for a group of friends.
The Blackberry Cottage has been fitted out with care and it is fully equipped (including wifi-internet, washing machine and satellite TV), because it is not only designed for renting; we love to come ourselves to relax and take care of the garden, our great passion.
In summer one virtually lives in the garden, which consists of a series of connected terraces following the natural contours of the hillside. You can enjoy your meals under the vine-covered pergola or rest on a hammock under the big pine.
The Blackberry Cottage is in a wonderful position on a hillside, about 450 ft above sea level, with a wonderful view over the Gulf of La Spezia. The cottage is reached along a 700 metre private road and track from the main road linking La Spezia to the Cinque Terre.
The property covers about 2,000 square meters and is enclosed within stone walls. It is set in a landscape of olives trees and Mediterranean scrub, and it is the last cottage of a small hamlet, thus enjoying seclusion without being isolated.
A car is a must for someone renting the cottage. Although the sea, the shops and the tourist attractions are not too far away, the local bus service is neither frequent nor convenient.
Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Portofino and Genoa are all destinations easily reachable on a day trip by car, or by car and train. To go to the Cinque Terre we suggest using the train, parking the car just under the station at La Spezia, about 6 km from the Blackberry Cottage. If you like hiking, then you can join the walking paths directly from the house and visit the Cinque Terre National Park on foot (if you are fit!), or take the car to Riomaggiore or Manarola and start exploring from there.

I have been living in Brussels for many years to work for the European Union, dealing with environmental issues.

I love nature and you will understand that when you arrive at the Blackberry Cottage, which is surrounded by nature.

The Blackberry Cottage has been our family holiday home since the '70s when our parents bought it and progressively refurbished over the years. Now that our parents are not there any longer me and my sister keep on improving it as a sort of family legacy.

We regularly go there to spend holidays with my wife and our 2 sons . Friends normally come over to stay with us in the cottage.

We hope that you will be able to feel the special energy of the place.
