We are out and about working on the property or not far away if you need assistance with anything throughout your stay. We are more than happy to show you what's in season so you can harvest your own mulberries, citrus, starfruit and many others.
We have other accommodation on the property. 'The Shack' is a studio that sleeps 3 so keep it in mind if you have multiple families or a larger group wanting to holiday close by.
There are friendly dogs and chickens roaming the property along with the diverse range of wildlife. Watch out for wallabies, rare birds (the noisy pitta and many others), water dragons and if you're really lucky, a koala. You may even hear the moon bird.
Inquire about renting a surfboard or body board.
This is a family property and we live on site. No schoolies or wild parties and we ask that the pool area is not used before 8am and after 10pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the property. No smoking in or outside please.
Please note the renting of Moon Bird Cottage is for casual rental bookings only and cannot be used for commercial purposes such as photographic shoots unless prior arrangements are made with the owners. Fees apply.
We are a teacher and carpenter combo living on 15 acres between Bangalow and Byron Bay. Striving to become more self-sufficient we are planting vegetable gardens, fruit trees and restoring degraded rainforest.
We have some wayfaring chickens and a 3 year old farm dog called Gypsy Moon Bird. She is a well trained outside dog and won't hassle anyone unless you throw a stick. Then you're asking for it.
When we're not at work you will find us tinkering away on the property, in the surf or walking in a rainforest somewhere. We have a passion for the outdoors and our lifestyle on the property and are happy to share this with our guests.
