Located right in the charming, Old Port (Vieux Port) central area of Cannes, our large, top-floor apartment, boasts a huge,(40 sq. m), south-facing terrace giving an unspoiled, close view of the sea and lower Cannes - it is an amazing, panoramic view stretching from the mountains of le Californie, to the ancient hilltop church of the Old town ( Le Suquet). The property is ideally and centrally located, with the beaches along the Croisette, (both public and paying) the lovely shops of the Rue d'Antibes and, of course, the many restaurants of all kinds of the Old Port, the Palais de Festivals, the splendid open market, Le Marché de Forville, and Le Suquet, (the Old Town), all within 3-12 minutes walk.
We can accommodate up to 6 people, since, immediately next-door is our studio, with its own bathroom and kitchenette, sleeping up to 2. The studio has its own, north terrace, Sony TV and DVD with the French channels.. It may be rented separately on request.. The main apartment has 2 double, air-conditioned bedrooms, (one of which can configured as 2 times single), a large bathroom, a large living & dining area and a small kitchen. This 25 sq.m., next-door studio, (not with air-conditioning, but fan) adds another double or twin bedroom and ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. Wi-fi and multi-language television are included.
On entering our light and spacious apartment, and will be instantly drawn to the magnificent view from the living area and the very large terrace. The spacious, living area also offers a comfortable space to relax and unwind. Although there is no air-conditioning in this room, the large windows that open out onto the terrace make it light and airy. It is quiet on the 8th and top floor, and with no neighbours above, There is broadband throughout and a television with multi-language freeview channels. On one side of the room, is a dignified, dining area, on the other a group area with coffee table and three comfy armchairsThe kitchen is small, 1950-s style, but well equipped with a microwave, which also works as an oven, a gas cooker with oven, and a fridge/freezer. There is enough crockery for 6 guests. Again it has plenty of light, and it also opens onto its own smaller terrace, with a dazzling view of the Californie hills, jewelled with lights at night.
The main apartment has 2 bedrooms, one opens directly onto the terrace and the sea, through sliding, glass doors, and the second bedroom opens towards the north side of the property and onto the town and the hills. In the first bedroom is is a large, double bed (that can separate into two single beds) lots of cupboard space and air-conditioning. The second bedroom, also air-conditioned, has a very comfortable double bed. It also has good cupboard space (and a TV and DVD can be moved in when the studio is unused).The huge (40 sq. m) terrace on the sea is very impressive, whether you are watching the open sea and sky , like a moving, changing painting, yachts and cruise liners pull into the port in the daytime, or the mountains flittering with light in the evenings. It is equipped with several deckchairs and loungers.Madame Désirée Reic, our charming friend in Cannes will meet you, give you keys, and provide any holiday information you need.The bathroom is is very spacious and is located between these rooms, and is fitted with a W.C, bidet, shower and bath.The studio has its own bathroom with basin, bath & shower. There is a second bathroom with basin, but temporarily out of order at the moment.
Please note that of a group of over 4 people, 2 people must use the immediately, next-door studio. The studio receives broadband from next-door, and has a Sony TV and DVD; it receives French channels only there. Full facilities are, however, available in the main flat next door.
CARREFOUR runs a paid parking garage which can be accessed (on foot) from the lobby of our building. In August, 2015 their rate was 24€//day; 65€/week; 35€/weekend. Alternately, you can drive around 5-15 minutes to find any frèe, street parking in the area.

We have a charming lady in Cannes, Madame Désirée Reic, who will greet you at the apartment. If Désirée is not available, someone else will greet you and give you the keys. We will send you full directions, including directions from the motorway, airport and train station, as pertinent. Please specify your approximate arrival time to us in advance. It is very helpful if you, please, 'phone or text the person meeting you (we will provide the relevant telephone number) from the road, airport or train, close to Cannes, to confirm your arrival time.
Unless already included, (e.g. AirBnB), , there is a modest supplement, paid on arrival, for cleaning, linen, towels and laundry: the amount depends on the number of beds used, and it is scheduled elsewhere in this advertisement. There is a refundable, security deposit, usually 250 EUR. You will, of course, receive a receipt for these items.
Air conditioning is in the apartment bedrooms only, at present.
There is a washing machine but only a clothes-drying rack.
Minimum stay (except for Festival rentals) is 5 nights.
House Rules - We sincerely thank you for respecting the following requirements during your stay in our home:
*Young children and babies are accepted only on the basis that they absolutely must be closely supervised by adults when on the 8th floor balconies, please.*
No smoking in the bedrooms, please.
No moving of furniture, please, at any time.
Please do not run the air conditioning machines when you are not in the apartment.
Please make sure the switches of the electric awnings over the south balcony are always left in the middle, "off" position, otherwise the motor could burn out.
Please do not leave the awnings out on windy days or overnight.
Do not use any bath-towels for lying on, on the beach. There are beach mats for that purpose in the living-room cupboard.
Please be careful not to scratch the non-stick utensils.

Formerly, he was the Artistic Director of a theatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
