Thank you for your comments. Clearly, you found a lot to like, but there were a few "surprises" that dampened your experience. Your input will help us avoid that for future guests.
Extra towels, soaps, shampoo, toothbrushes, coffee, tea, etc. are available at no charge by dialing either the housekeeping department or the front desk. Our homeowner pays an extremely high fee to the Resort to provide these services, so if they are not provided cheerfully upon request, I would like to know.
There should have been a welcome letter in the room that told you how to request those items and to let you know that the cider, hot chocolate, sodas and chocolates were our gifts to you. It's possible that the letter was missing; if so, I apologize. I will meet with all of our cleaning contractors and emphasize the importance of making sure that there is a letter for every guest on arrival.
As for housekeeping, we have chosen to operate the condo-suites that we manage the same as our other vacation homes and condos. There is a cleaning fee for the departure cleaning, and in-stay housekeeping is available at a modest charge; in the case of your room, it would have been $35 for a mid-stay clean-up.
We have chosen to make in-stay housekeeping optional, as most of our guests prefer it that way. The lack of daily housekeeping is reflected in our pricing, and they appreciate the extra savings; it's one of the reasons they choose to rent through us. Most guests staying 4 nights or more request a mid-stay housekeeping; those staying one or two nights almost never do. We have never had a guest request daily service.
I will make sure that all of our listings at the Resort clearly state that in-stay housekeeping is optional and list the fee for that property.
I'm glad that you brought these items up in your review; you may have helped a future guest avoid the frustration you must have experienced. I hope that you will stay with us again so that we will have an opportunity to make up for any disappointment you experienced on this visit.
