This is a wonderfully restored property, maintained to a high standard, right in the heart of Marseillan. It is arranged over 4 floors with a living room and well equipped kitchen area on the ground floor, 2 good size bedrooms, and huge bathroom on the first floor, with a further 2 bedrooms and shower room on the second floor. A further flight of steps leads to a large roof terrace equipped with a large table & chairs, sunbeds, and a barbecue.
Marseillan itself is a lovely small French town with plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants in the town centre itself, and along the port which is only a short walk. The town has a lively, friendly feel to it. We were fortunate enough to stay during one of the fêtes, where there was a whole week of evening and daytime events, including live music and a carnival. The nearest beach is about 5km from the town which does get very busy in Summer. We used Robinson beach, a kilometre further along the road to Sete which is much quieter, with easy parking in the free car park.
A few points to be aware of with this property are that due to its location along a narrow street, there is no parking outside, (other than to load and unload),or nearby the property. We did not find this an issue as there is plenty of free parking in the nearby public car parks. As the property is over 4 floors, there are a lot of stairs, and the stairs between the 1st and 2nd floors are rather narrow. Also as the property is located in the centre of town, there can be some noise late at night from the street below.
