The town of Shrewsbury lies in the loop of the River Severn and is surrounded by exceptionally beautiful rolling hills, woodlands, lakes and rivers. The area is ideal for nature lovers, walkers, photographers, and lovers of good wining & dining. There is an excellent live music scene, and there are several good clubs for those who like to party - in short, whatever type of vacation you're looking for, you can find it in Shrewsbury and the surrounding Shropshire countryside.

Amongst other things, Shrewsbury is famous as the birth place of Charles Darwin. It is a very beautiful old town with many listed buildings, mainly from the 15th and 16th century, but with some such as the red sandstone abbey (founded in 1083), the Norman castle and St Mary’s Church, dating from 960AD and boasting one of the tallest spires in England. The town is surrounded by the River Severn on three sides, and therefore also has many landmark bridges.
There are several National Trust properties nearby including Chirk Castle and Powys Castle, Attingham Park.
There are also plenty of contemporary ways to enjoy the town. There are many places where you can shop, at the high street names as well as interesting boutiques, such as Wyle Cop, The Parade Centre and the waterfront area.
If you are with a car, there are many sites worth visiting in the area, such as the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site; Hawkstone Historic Park and Follies - full of caves, cliffs, crags and woodland; Wroxeter Roman City and the Severn Valley Steam Railway. There are also plenty of places to enjoy the great outdoors.
In terms of transport links, on street parking is available directly outside the house, and it is just 10 minutes walk from the local train station and bus station.
Guests have access to the kitchen, conservatory and garden.
