Your room has a writing table and rocking recliner if you need to work or prefer to relax in your own space. The living room, back yard and chair on the front porch are free for use if you prefer to visit. As the 2nd renter (room across the hall) is a grad student and I typically work afternoons/evenings, you have free reign of the house most of the day. Happy to share insights into local sites, meals and outdoor activities to make your time in Spokane the best it can be.
Your room can be used as a retreat. The following public areas of my house are also available for your use:
Kitchen: microwave, stove, freezer portion of refrigerator, cupboard space, basic cooking/cutlery etc, coffee, tea.
Bathroom: shared with tub/shower combo, cupboard space to store your toiletries.
Living room, dining room, washer/dryer, iron/ironing board are free for use.
The front porch has a chair to relax and watch the neighborhood pass by walking their dogs.
The backyard is lush with flowers/plants and has an fire pit with S'more fixings available (year round EXCEPT when there is a burn ban..... typically the last month of summer).
The garage is tandem style which simply requires communication as to who is getting in/out first. Parking on the street is also very safe and readily available.
Only one step into the front door and all on one level make it easily accessible. I dont have a TV but WiFi lets you stream shows etc. The mini-refrigerator in your room can store take out food to warm up or food you plan to cook. Most find the tandem garage a bit narrow (although it is standard width) and prefer to park on the street which is safe and easily available. Grocery stores at 5 min drive from home. Sorry, there is no accommodation for pets.
If you must smoke, please do so outside.
Social alcohol use is welcome but no drug use including marijuana either inside or outside my home.
Both I and my neighbors wake early for work etc so quiet after 9pm on weekdays is appreciated.
Items used in the kitchen should be cleaned when you are finished using them (breakfast dishes washed after breakfast, etc)
Items in the group living areas (living room, bathroom, washer, etc) need to be cleaned up or returned to your room by the end of the day/every evening.
Although I work afternoons/evenings I am happy to help with info on local sites, restaurants, hiking trails when I am home. A collection of maps and tourist info that has been left by other visitors is also available. WiFi completes your search and info options. As a morning person I am typically up for visiting at the start of the day but by evening, beyond helpful information and recommendations, you may need to entertain yourself. The 2nd renter is a grad student and typically studying. If your time in Spokane is a retreat, you will find my home typically people free and a relaxing space.
