Just renovated, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, early 1900s Memphis (MEM) Midtown space, within 1 block of Overton Square, the most popular entertainment district in Memphis in the 70s and 80s, back in a big way the last several years and now the fastest growing area in Memphis.
One private bedroom with a queen bed plus a large sofa from which the back cushions can be removed to make almost a twin bed. Accommodation can be made for a fourth with a cot.
As of February 2016, exceptions for extended stays may be made, however, reservations will generally not be taken more than a few weeks in advance and weekends are two night minimum (if Saturday then Friday and if Friday then Saturday), possibly three night minimum on an event weekend such as during the Memphis in May month of festivals. Please send a message here to inquire regarding a specific scenario. Thank you for your patience and consideration as management of the apartment is improved.
The house is a just-renovated, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, early 1900s Memphis (MEM) Midtown space, within 1 block of Overton Square, the most popular entertainment district in Memphis in the 70s and 80s, back in a big way the last several years and now the fastest growing area in Memphis. It is an entire apartment/home that is half of a duplex. See the "Other Things to Note" under the "Extra Details" section for a detailed list of close food and entertainment options, organized by topic.
This space is unique in its proximity to the music, food, and atmosphere of Midtown and, especially, Overton Square, which is within a few steps. And all of Midtown (Broad, Cooper-Young) and downtown is accessible within about 5 minutes by car.
Free wireless internet (password secure) and satellite television is available.
There is one parking space for two cars currently. It is first come, first served. Parking on street is free and there is generally plenty of it. You can be as close to the house on the street as in the parking space. I park on the street myself.
The temperature in the small apartment is easily and quickly adjusted by the two gas wall heaters and one mobile electric heater, or the two window air conditioning units. Air conditioner settings are kept at 78. 75 is a good setting if you tend to be cool or 70 if you tend to be warm.
The space is just renovated and minimally furnished, yet fully functional as a home. The detailing of it continues. Please provide feedback about whatever you want that it doesn't have. It will evolve from its fresh state to meet demands. Its differentiation point is its unbeatable location. Currently it does not have a microwave. Feel free to use the oven and pots, pans, and dishes to heat up leftovers or whatever you want.
As the bumper sticker says "Midtown is Memphis". I am relatively new to MEM myself and have fallen in love with it. The bumper sticker is true. Downtown is great too --> Midtown is Memphis.
Overton Park is a couple of blocks away, including a walking/running trail. Within the park are the Memphis zoo and Levitt Shell (open air theater popular for live music).
If not walking to Overton Square: Uber, Lyft, Cabsolutely, cab, ride the "Roo". All of MEM proper is within 5-10 minutes.
If anything is less than desirable at the house upon your arrival or during your stay, please let me know and I will do my best to fix it. I cannot foresee every eventuality and cannot fix things if you do not communicate.
As of January 2016, for the sake of balancing demand and efficiency, weekend (Friday/Saturday) reservations, if made more than a week in advance, require a minimum two night stay. Guests have exclusive, undisturbed access to the space. Whatever you need otherwise, I am at your service. Safe, busy neighborhood with lots of dog walkers, joggers, restaurant patrons, neighbors, lighting, 1 guaranteed parking space, plentiful street parking immediately in front and to the side, and a lovely front porch for taking it all in.

Beale Street (still the best place in the world for blues music)
As of January 2016, for the sake of balancing demand and efficiency, weekend (Friday/Saturday) reservations, if made more than a couple of days in advance, require a minimum two night stay.
Relatively new to MEM, though not the Delta, and have fallen in love with the city's soul and character and music. Let me help you experience it to the maximum. Though this space is off Overton Square (an unbeatable location for walkabikity) in Midtown, I love both Midtown and downtown and can offer recommendations on both. I work hard during the week. I am a single parent and on weekends I work on other ventures like completing renovations on this house, a healthy snack food business, and my precious daughter. I am always on the hunt for an awesome music show at one of the spots I listed on another of these pages, or any of the other places among the Memphis Flyer music listings, such as in the downtown vicinity. Beale Street is still the home of the blues.
