Overall summary – we really enjoyed our stay at 26 Lagun. If you like to be away from crowds and near fantastic diving & snorkeling, the location is PERFECT! More details as follows. Here are some of the great things about the place: 1) the back terrace and snorkeling platform were AMAZING, 2) it’s within swimming/walking distance of two beautiful coves/beaches, 3) the incredibly friendly neighbor Eddie was happy to help out with any needs, 4) the cool backyard with resident iguanas, 5) lots of space in the house, 6) Willem was super responsive to questions before our arrival. A few inconveniences to note: A) the iguanas have moved into the crawl space in the roof, which didn’t bother us per se, but their droppings fall through cracks in the ceiling and are constantly showing up on the floors, walls, countertops, sinks, etc. B) there was some broken glass and other refuse scattered around the yard – not a lot, but noticeable and distracting, C) there was no washer during our stay, though the neighbor Eddie came to the rescue and let us use his, D) the kitchen faucet had leaked all over the counter top prior to our arrival, and we had to wait around the morning of our second day for the plumber, who slowed the leak but didn’t fix it, E) one of the two showers was a bit slow to drain, F) Willem was slower to respond to questions during our stay. None of these inconveniences were terrible problems for us, but we felt they were worth mentioning. As long as you’re OK with a “rustic” rental, we would recommend.
