Welcome to my home! One of the tallest buildings in Stone Town. With two balconies and a huge terrace, the place is filled with light and breeze. Also on the colorful Baraza bench of this historical building you can get fresh fruits every morning!
The house is one of the tallest buildings in Stone Town, offering views rivaled by only two or three other buildings. It was historically used as the Portuguese embassy but its origins remain unknown. The views are definitely my favorite feature from this place, plus being surrounded by windows gives you the opportunity to escape from the heat and enjoy the breeze.
The place is spread over two stores. The first floor offers two rooms - both have double beds and share a balcony - a kitchen and a (URL HIDDEN) a living area with a daybed and a dinning table, a room surrounded by windows, so again a beautiful view. And finally the terrace looking at
traditional stone town and the Indian Ocean also displays some of my plants and offers you the perfect place for sun-downers or even a Bbq.

I would normally only rent the whole apartment while I am away travelling somewhere. I will then interact by email/phone. Some of my friends live just around the corner, I can put you in contact and I am sure they will be happy to help you out with anything you need. Also every day there will be a person that comes and help me at the house, she is a zanzibari with very good English and great personality. You can join her to the market to get fresh produce or ask her how to get around.
There are a lot of stairs to get to the house, which is what gives the great views. So for people with limited mobility this may be a challenge.
We do not have any strict rules, and we would like you to feel relaxed. Having said that, you would probably know by now that Stone Town is a place where people are very respectful towards diversity, but will expect you to be respectful back, so common sense is the way to go.
Michal and I moved to Zanzibar six months ago and we already call this place home. We are here working in development and taking the chance to travel around Africa.
Not only do we live 2 minutes walk from our wonderful friends and right in front of our favorite restaurant - but every day we wake up, look at the Indian Ocean outside our window and feel like the luckiest people on earth!
We both happen to love the ocean, mangos, walks in the forest, good movies and cats. Well, guess what? Zanzibar has it all :)
