My stay at Geza's place was amazing. The place is a little room with access to the bathroom and the kitchen, simple but it's all you need. The location is just perfect. The place is really close to many good restaurants, a market, and on the other side of the street you have a whole street full of many well known stores (Andrássy út). I really enjoy walking while traveling, so I never used public transport, but either you like walking or not this is the place to stay. You'll be walking distance to most Pest's attractions (and the starting point for the free walking tours), but in case you're too tired, the place is just some steps away from the metro line. There is also a bus ticket that you can buy at the metro station that will take you to the airport easily. Not only the place and location were amazing, but Geza was an unbelievable host, he is the sweetest person. I had some trouble with my gps when I just arrived and he picked me up at the metro station, he ALWAYS replied quickly to my messages, and even helped me to wash and dry (in several ways) my clothes patiently. He was an extremely attentive host. I should probably include the fact that I'm a solo girl traveler and I never felt unsafe nor anything close, neither at his place nor walking to the apartment. I would absolutely enjoy staying here again.
Thnx a lot for a nice words. Easy to be a good host to a very good guest:-) And course thx for mexican spread "cajeta" (even 3!) as well! Come back again in Budapest. If you are coming with largest company, you can chose my another place, the full apartment. There I can accomodate 4 persons.
This is such a great room to rent. Geza is super helpful with everything, especially recommending places to see and restaurants. He gives great directions and always made sure that I was having a good experience. The absolute best part, however, is the location. It is less than five minutes from the central Deák Ferenc square (where all the metro lines intersect and very close to all the restaurants) and near St. Stephen's Basilica. You can't beat the price for such a prime location. For someone traveling alone, the room is the perfect size. I rarely spent time in the apartment, but the amenities are great. The bathroom is shared, but it is clean and there was no issue with the actual sharing. Overall, I had a great experience. And I am already planning my next trip back.
The host is probably one of the BEST hosts I've ever experienced. 5 star+ :) He walked me to the apartment, offered me to find transportation to get to Austria. He even offered to take me to the train station to assist w/ my travel due to refugees situations and helped me find shared rides to go to Vienna since trains don't run anymore. I had to leave my luggage until 5pm the next day due to my ride's departure time. He is completely cool with everything. He cannot be a better host. Superb guy. The only thing that bothered me is probably the facility and pricing. I rent my Los Angeles room super cheaply for only $25 a night by beverly hills since I"m not there for offer hosting in person. And this space being on the very low end of the condition it's in like a college dormitory type quality, the $28 a night is completely overpriced in my humble opinion. I've seen way better and much more polished places near city center also for only $18 a night. However, for me, my being so impressed with the host's service, what I paid is well worth it in the end. I think you're in a bind last minute needing to find a place to stay like I was, this is a nice choice to crash in and the host is extremely accommodating. However, just know that the place is like a poor college student place like as seen from the photos. :)
Oh, don't make me shy:-) but thank you very much for nice words. Price: Well, my apartment is really in the city center's presently trendiest part. OK, not a hipper-superb futuristic styled, but in the historical building built at the end of XIX'th century, tidy room, shared, but allways clean bathroom and kitchen with all facilities the traveler needs for short city break, or even 1-2 week long staying. (The limit is 2 weeks, I'm not doing airbnb-ing for living.) Plus my hospitality (to hype myself a bit:-)) and all in all I still thing that my price is reasonable. Off course it's a freedom of choice, everyone can chose another accommodation in Budapest.
