Very Maine-ish, old-fashioned camp on quiet pond 18 miles (45 mins) SE of Portland's foodie scene. Big screen porch, 3 dining areas (kitchen, porch, outside), 2 hammocks, dock, rowboat, relax. Cottage on a rise, 150 yds above dock area. Swimming area shallow at the shoreline. Public boat launch one mile down the pond. Family vaca or romantic get-away.
An old camp new to us. Two bedrooms (full bed with lake sunrise view), daybed in living room (same view) and double single-bed room available. 1 shower bath and another half bath. Ample parking. Walk across the small private road down to dock on lower portion of this property, 2nd hammock, rowboat and shallow swimming area -- great for kids or non-swimmers to wade out. Ceiling fans and wall heaters in every room and AC in main living area. Bed linens and basic bath linens provided. Full sized kitchen equipped with dishware, range, micro, coffeemaker, fridge. DVD as well as CD player, network TV, sketching materials and outdoor and board games provided. Heat only in bedrooms, so seasonal rental only.
1.5 baths. Old-fashioned camp -- so only two showers-worth of hot water at a time; must wait 15 minutes for 3rd shower.
We are slowly redecorating camp to our taste so you will have the whole cottage to yourself but only two bedrooms and daybed are available now. On a private road with about 10 well-spaced camps. We don't want the camp to sit empty on any of these glorious Maine summer days!

My husband and I are usually nearby but not always on this property. You may call or text us and we have friendly helpful neighbors on the road. We will usually check on you personally and water the gardens, if you stay longer than two days.
Public boat ramp to launch your fishing or ski boat nearby.
Small surprisingly well-stocked grocery, hardware, drug store, and gas station one mile. And bigger grocery not far on Rte 202 (Hannaford's)
Goat creamery (Creeping Thyme) on our road: yogurt, cheeses and classes in soap-making available. Nearby farm stands: Frugal Farmer and Snell Family Farms. Buxton Antiques is also near the grocery/hardware complex at intersection of Rtes 22 and 112 (one mile away).
This is a pretty quiet road so everyone keeps noise down after 10 pm. No live flame except in the grill or fire pit when fire danger is low. Please wear life jackets (in screen porch) to row or paddle on the pond. Leave dishes clean and recycle as much as possible. Please leave beds unmade when you leave, so we can tell which were used. No smoking. Pets allowed. Great place for swimming dogs! Do pick up after them, of course. Children are welcome but the house is NOT child-proofed. Cleaning fluids under the sinks, for example; silverware in lower cabinets, no outlet or cabinet door protectors. I have not marked baby-friendly as nothing can be flushed except toilet paper -- no wipes, diapers, etc.
