Explore the heart and soul of Yogyakarta
We believe that the best way to experience Yogyakarta is by living like the locals. That’s why we are offering you our home ‘Matakami’.
You can use our cups and plates in the kitchen, but please wash your own dishes. With a lot of people in the house, it can look a little bit messy, please take care of your own belongings :)

Matakami is Luise and Satria. We are an Indonesian couple who love to meet new people. Hearing your stories and sharing ours are our passion! We love to play music and all other forms of creativity. We enjoy exploring the untouched sides of our city.
Even though Satria is Indonesian, he was born and raised in Brussels, Belgium. Good thing is, he gets to speak 4 languages (Dutch, French, English, Indonesian). Hopefully it can be helpful in some ways! Satria loves to cook, he might even give you a cooking class if desired. Taking nice photographs is also one of his hobbies. He loves his cameras!
I myself is a graduate of Dentistry and still struggling to become a dentist. But, I'd rather be called a singer. I have a duo in Yogyakarta called Wangi Hujan (the smell of rain), we do gigs here and there. My stage name as a solo artist is Luise Najib. You can YouTube these names :D. Singing and writing poems and songs are the things that I do in my spare time. If you like to jam, we can definitely do that at Matakami.
Matakami Homestay is our baby. We bought and renovated our house little by little and we are so proud to call it ours. Matakami stands for "Our Eyes" in English. Our aim is for guests or travellers to be able to see Yogyakarta and the whole Indonesia through the local's eyes. Hopefully you can love this country the way we do. We are excited to start and to grow and we are ready to welcome you into our little house. Hope you will enjoy your stay! See you.
