The apartment was exactly as Elle described: A studio apartment with a kitchen and bathroom. We didn’t use the kitchen much, as we were out sightseeing most of the time, but it was well set up. The bathroom was clean and pleasant, a very nice-working shower, fluffy charcoal grey towels, etc. The bed was queen sized and extremely comfortable, pillows just right, one of the things we really looked forward to at the end of a long day. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and was not annoying at night. A/C a must in NYC summer! The apartment was decorated in a cute style with many new items, the carrier pigeon pillow being one of our favorites. Wi-fi also worked without a hitch. And the location was stupendous, one block from the #1 Subway train on the Upper West Side. We whizzed from the plays in Times Square to home in 20 minutes. Lots of fun places nearby to eat, including GreenForce, Sarabeth’s, Zabars, and Lukes (fantastic lobster rolls). On Amsterdam Ave., third floor, so a little noisy outside, but the windows blocked most of the noise and it didn’t keep us from sleeping at all.
Elle had her friend bring us the key upon check-in. We coordinated through texting, and all went well. He even helped us get our luggage upstairs to the apartment, which was much appreciated.
Thanks, Elle, for lending us your home. We’d stay again in a heartbeat!
