This is a spacious room made for people who like to be woken up by the sun. The south-facing view looks over the treetops of rural Chelsea, VT and beyond to the majestic Green Mountains. The bathroom is shared with the room next door [The Nook} and has a bath-tub with a high spout you can fit your head under. Downstairs, the large, open common space offers kitchen privileges for vegetarian food prep, a library/game room with fireplace & nearby woodstove warmth.
We have a big house with an open floor plan, with one very large space downstairs that includes kitchen, bathroom and living room area with wood stove heat. Guest rooms are on the second floor, sharing two bathrooms and one shower. The Summer Kitchen is a tiny cabin completely separate from the house, just a short walk through the orchard.
You will have a quiet 2nd floor room, with access to the spacious first floor where there is comfortable furniture, wireless internet, an open kitchen, roaring wood stoves in winter and a sunny back deck overlooking orchard and gardens in the summer. The third floor is off limits unless you are working at Pepperbox Studio.

Depending on our schedule we may be totally busy and unavailable for socializing or fully present for networking and joint meals, if desired.
This house is also the home of Pepperbox Studio and recording may be going on while you are visiting. If you are a musician, you may schedule time in the studio to work with me, if you are interested in working on your music.
Because I operate a recording studio on the third floor of the house, it is necessary for guests to be respectful of what is going on while they are visiting. The house is very open and sound travels easily. The best fit would be for guests who have a quiet lifestyle. If you like to party and stay up late making noise, this is not the place for you. Our kitchen is open for vegetarian meal preparation only. Alcohol is fine. In the winter and during our spring mud season, you may need a four-wheel drive vehicle to get here. Thank you!
I’ve lived in Vermont for 35 years and continue to find new things here. I’ve raised three kids in two different off-grid houses and built my livelihood from scratch many times over so that I could stay in this beautiful place. Since 2005 I’ve run a recording studio [Pepperbox Studio] & a small record label [Thunder Ridge Records], while writing and performing my own music around the east coast. In the warmer months, I run a landscaping business, [Gardenessa]. Like many artists in rural Vermont, I stay afloat by balancing several streams of income. Airbnb has become a part of this for me. My goals are to bring new people into my network while continuing to cultivate my artistic endeavors. I love helping people find confidence and unique self-expression through music. I also love sharing my knowledge of the natural treasures of my state with visitors.
