One of three unique self-catering apartments in the Eco Lodge at Denmark Farm. Providing comfortable accommodation for couples, families & groups with added bonus that holidays at Denmark Farm are as sustainable as can be. Up to 4 guests can stay within this spacious apartment. With facilities for an extra campbed and/or cot upon request.
The Eco Lodge at Denmark Farm is built with sustainably sourced timber for the main frame. We have a biomass heating system using locally sourced wood pellet fuel. Rainwater and waste water run to a biodiversity-boosting wetland treatment system. Electricity is generated from our own PV solar panels. Sheep’s wool insulation enhances heat conservation and all is topped by a living green (sedum based) roof. Internal walls are painted with Earthborn organic VOC free paint and internal wood is treated only with environmental friendly products. Owl's Roost has its own wood burning stove to ensure a cosy stay for guests all year round.
Our furnishings are green too! With beds made at a nearby water powered sawmill, sustainably sourced timber, and mattresses made from pure wool and cotton. The majority of our other furniture is sourced locally, either handmade or second-hand, further reducing our impact on the environment. All our bed linen and towels are 100% organic cotton. Last, but far from least, we have some gorgeous Welsh blankets, handmade curtains and cushions all supplied by Jane Beck’s Welsh Blankets, who couldn’t be much more local – about a mile up the road.
Not forgetting wildlife, of course, we have sited a range of bird and bat boxes in the surrounding trees, wildlife-friendly landscaping and a natural play area close by for the ‘human wildlife’. All this is sited in a thriving 40 acre nature reserve which is accessible for our guests to explore and enjoy throughout their stay.
We are striving to offer as sustainable a holiday as possible, with all profit from bookings helping to further the vision and aims of the charity The Shared Earth Trust.
This is one of three apartments available. The full Eco Lodge is made up of three interconnected apartments and is very flexible to suit from two people to twelve + people by locking or unlocking internal doors.
The surrounding 40 acre nature reserve is open to guests and the public to explore at their leisure.
By special arrangement we can organise pizza events. Supplying freshly cooked pizza with local ingredients from our on-site cob oven. Bookings depend on availability and generally require a minimum number of guests.

Denmark Farm staff and or volunteers are usually on site on weekdays from 9am-5pm and occasionally at other times for special events. All guests will be provided with an emergency mobile telephone number so they can contact staff out of hours if required.
At Denmark Farm guests will receive a warm friendly welcome from our small dedicated team of staff and volunteers. We offer a range of accommodation from our self-catering Eco Lodge to cosy shared dormitories and bunkhouse and Eco Campsite. As well as residential stays we organise a year round programme of activities including conservation and craft courses, sustainability workshops and popular woodland children’s activities during school holidays. Any profit made from holidays and events is ploughed directly back into the management of the unique 40 acre nature reserve.
We usually offer either full week (Fri to Fri), long weekend (Fri-Mon) or mid week break (Mon-Fri) stays. During mid and low season we can often be a little more flexible depending on availability.
We do not offer one or two night stays. Our nightly price is based on the shortest stay - a 3 night long weekend or a 4 night mid week break. For longer stays the nightly price can be discounted. Please ask for a quote for stays of more than 3/4 nights.
We very much hope that our guests share our vision for sustainability and embrace the opportunity to contribute to an organisation striving to protect the environment. We request that all our guests recycle and compost as much of their waste as, do not waste water or power and respect other guests and the environment by leaving no trace of their visit.
I am Mara and I am part of the small team who manage Denmark Farm Conservation Centre, which is a charity based in a 40 acre nature reserve.
If you choose to come and stay with us I looking forward to welcoming you and your friends and family to this very special place.
