Amazing 3-bedroom home on 8 acres of land with two ponds in the middle of San Juan Island, surrounded by woods and pastures. Neighbors include bald eagles, gray foxes, deer. Large open deck, custom stone fire pit with seating, and 2-story great room. NOTE: The house is not easy to access for people who need canes, crutches, or wheelchairs.
The house and property are at the direct center of San Juan Island, 4 miles from Friday Harbor and 5 miles from Roche Harbor, at a geographical location thought by some Northwest tribes to be the location of Paradise. Egg Lake -- the best place to swim in fresh water in a public park on San Juan Island -- is 1 mile away, with two swimming docks and parking for several cars. Snug Harbor, 3 miles away in Mitchell Bay, has a fantastic espresso shop.
You can access the entire house and property. Although when you arrive we will not be there to greet you and show you around, you can go ahead and check yourself in. The numerical lock on the front door has a combination of 123456. As a backup, the key to the front door of the house is in a little black rectangular key box, hidden in the flower box beneath the kitchen window on the left side of the walk leading up to the front door. Please remember to replace the key when you leave. If you have any problems you can call me at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).

Alix and Andrew live in Seattle. We have two friends -- Bob and Graham -- who live in the cottage next to the garden (on the other side of the driveway) and who are available to help make your stay delightful!
Easy biking distance to Friday Harbor, Roche Harbor or Snug Harbor, coffee, dining, movies, and two great supermarkets. You may have poor cell phone connection (in the middle of the island), but you can use an communications app on your smartphone to call out, by connecting your cell phone to our wifi network in the house. Lastly, the Island does not have landfill for garbage, all of it has to be taken to the mainland, so while not essential, it is greatly appreciated if you take your garbage and recycle off the island with you.
No smoking is allowed in the house, and due to extremely dry conditions, any smoking outdoors must be done with great care and a mug of water for putting out the butt.
When you leave, please don't leave food in the refrigerator or items in the dryer.
Bob is an adventurer and South Pacific sailor, who lives much of the year aboard his sailboat in New Zealand, while spending northern summers co-hosting Arcadia, He is also a social entrepreneur is service to the UN 17 Global Goals.
