The flat is situated in the middle of Oria, the last small village before the border to Switzerland. It has two bedrooms with lake view, and a view on the old church. There is a parking opportunity up the road (5-10minutes walk from the apartment)
Oria is a very romantic medieval village, with a little old church. Behind it start some trails that bring you to peaks and nice panoramic walks.
Antonio Fogazzaro's novel "Piccolo Mondo Antico" takes place in Oria and the villa where he lived can be visited. (URL HIDDEN)
It is a very calm spot and sometimes there are little cultural events because of the cultural patrimony. The pier (see pictures) is the meeting place and very beautiful especially in the evening. It is somehow the replacement for the italian "piazza". The church square is very lovely too.

The owner will be there the first day and on the day of your departure. You will be able to reach her on the phone throughout your stay. She is an older lady (my grandmother) who was born in Valsolda. Her family built the house and she renovated it when she inherited the flat. She would love to live in Oria but because of her invalid husband she can only be there rarely, that's also why the minimum stay is of one week.
Unfortunately there are no pictures of the interior yet. It is a small rustic flat, on the third floor (but the access is directly from the lane, since Oria is built along the mountainside). When you get in, you have to climb a couple of stairs to get to the first level, where you can find the bathroom. After another four or so stairs there starts the corridor (the floor is all made out of different types of tiles) which ends with a window on the lake(see picture). On the right hand side there is the kitchen (small but well furnished: fridge, gas stove, hot water, plenty of cooking furniture). It's directly connected to the eating/living room which has a big table, a TV, some family pictures and a lakeside-window. On the left hand side of the corridor there are the two bedrooms, one is more children's room like (two double beds) (view:see picture) and the other one is quite romantic (painted in violet) and has a king-size bed and a lakeside window too. For a better understanding I can draw a picture on demand:)
Smoking is possible at the window of the eating room (not in the bedrooms!)
