We are at the heart of a beautiful village in the Lake District. Good beer and food served in local pubs and amazing scenery for walking and climbing. The larger room has a double bed, with a single in the smaller plus a large private shower room.
The cottage is in a lovely setting with pleasant garden and magnificent views - local amenities include 2 pubs serving good food and one with its own brewery serving excellent real ale. There is a small shop. You can see the top of England's highest mountain and enjoy the deepest lake. Wasdale is the spiritual home of climbing but is also good for cycling, swimming, walking, picnicing and just relaxing with a cool glass of something nice.
You will have exclusive access to the west wing of the cottage which comprises one large bedroom, one large shower room with WC, basin and bidet. You also have a small sitting room with access to the rear garden via french windows. This room also has a single bed for a third person or child - 2 further children could be accommodated with use of temporary beds. A third person over 16 years incurs an additional charge of £30 - children are £10 per night each.

We serve breakfast in the dining room in the main cottage and can provide any information you require about the local area. Peter, my husband is a member of the local mountain rescue team and knows the local terrain very well and would be happy to offer a day to help you explore - for a small charge or just some advice about the local opportunities.
We do not have the facilities to accept credit card payments but their is an ATM in Gosforth - 3 miles away. If you need a packed lunch this can be provided for £5 per person.
We are fairly relaxed about most things but would prefer guests to behave with a level of decorum. Check in and breakfast can be arranged for your preferred time but you will need to vacate your room on the day of departure by 10.00am. Smoking is only allowed in the garden. Tea and coffee are provided in the room and other items can be purchased. We can accommodate a well behaved dog but we do have 2 cats so we and you will need to be careful if they meet - we also have hens in an enclosure in the garden. Sheep graze in the field next to the cottage so your dog would need to be safe with these.
I am retired and live with my husband in a beautiful place. We are very involved in the local community and keep busy and fit. We like to travel to Europe and north America and take frequent trips. I love a glass of prosecco, a dip in the nearby river, to hear live music and to have a good laugh.
