Situated in a small, quiet village, this airy, bright double room with original oak beams has its own large private shower room and a facility to make tea & coffee. Great stop over place for skiing or sunning in the south, or travelling North. It is on the champagne trail and near the village of Chaource (famous for its cheese). Troyes is not far with a great city centre, but also we are on the boarders of Bourgogne and the town of Chablis. Biker friendly and room for tents in the garden!
The barn house is in a courtyard and was one of the outbuildings which was part an old demolished Châteaux. The room available is situated on the first floor of the house and the bedroom does not face the road, so it is a quiet space. There are old beams in the room, as throughout the upper floor. Towels and linen are provided as are tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Situated near Chaource (famous for its cheese) you will find shops, bar and restaurants. Although the village of Praslin doesn't have any retail outlets it is nevertheless a peaceful, farming village in the heart of the countryside with lovely walks and views. The garden is large with fruit trees and an old well. Plenty of wildlife surrounds the barn. The busy main city of Troyes is about 26 km away, where you can find many shops, restaurants and bars and a train station, with frequent trains to Paris (only 1 hr 40 mins away). There is lots to see around the area of this Champagne region, with wine tasting, villages of character and fresh air!
As the room is within my house, you can access your room by entering through the back door and using the communal stairs. When you arrive, the parking is to the rear of the property so drive past the front of the house and enter through the green wooden gates where you can park. The garden area is at your disposal. There is an independent apartment attached to the house which could be used if you where are more than two guests, with its own kitchen. This place is also advertised on the Airbnb website and bookable via the site (Charming converted barn apartment).

I can help you during your stay, letting you know local information about shops, opening times, local holidays, markets etc. If there is something particular you need and find difficulty getting it, I may be able to help. But, of course you need your space, so I will always let you decide if you need my input.
You will need transport, preferably a car or motorbike. The nearest town (Chaource) and its shops is about 5 km away. There are no shops in Praslin. If you are planning on flying or are coming by train, it is advisable to rent a car at the nearest train station at Troyes. Bus service is practically non-existent and taxis can be pricey. It is also important to note that mobile phone reception is poor at the house, but it is always possible to make a call using the house wi-fi over Viber or Messenger or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) etc.
Please note: You are using these premises at you own risk and should therefore have your own travel/accident insurance. The owner cannot take responsibility for lost or stolen items you may choose to leave on the premises. Parking in the garden is done so at your own risk. To improve on security, the garden gates should be shut at night. Thanks.
As it is quiet in the village, it would be appreciated if noise was kept to a minimum and preferably, not a lot after midnight. Smoking only outside please and no pets. However there are animals nearby in the fields which don't belong to me. We are in the country after all (horses, hedgehogs, birds, including owls and woodpeckers, local dogs and cats who wander where they will) Please don't feed any of the animals surrounding the house, especially the horse - thanks. ATTENTION! Please note that the fence surrounding the back garden is electrified to prevent the horses entering the garden. Please don't touch it and keep children away. It is only a low voltage, but it's safer not to interfere!
Please be kind enough to dispose of your rubbish on departure, there is a bottle bank in the village and bins and recycling crates provided for you other items. Oh, and only toilet paper down the toilet facility, there are bins provided for you baby wipes, cotton products and other items. Also if you use the garden furniture, you do so at your own risk. Thanks!

I'm a business woman who has bought an old barn in France and renovated it. Having owned my own cafe business for ten years in Yorkshire and worked prior to that in London for many years, I decided to carry out a long term dream of having a holiday home abroad and that has brought me here.
I was at university to study English Literature, and so I am an avid reader and still love the classics as well as modern literature.
I hope that when you come to stay, you will enjoy this peaceful village as much as I do. The surroundings are beautiful.
I firmly believe that Time should be enjoyed and not rushed, especially when you get a bit older. Enjoy the tranquillity!
