Come relax and enjoy nature in our mid-century modern gem in the park. Designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, the home bridges a stream of small babbling brooks. The property is comprised of two acres on the sprawling Wissahickon Valley Park which boasts 50 miles of rugged hiking, biking and riding trails. Chestnut Hill, located in the northwest section of Philadelphia, was selected by Forbes as a "top urban enclave."
The house is the center of this peaceful oasis that rests on lush grounds. The home is listed on the historic registry for its architectural significance. Your bedroom and private bath are located on the quiet lower level of the house which is closed off for your privacy and enjoyment. Enter the house by the front door and descend the stairs to your private space. The sitting room just down the hall from the suite boasts three sets of french doors that lead out to a stone path that runs along the stream wall. Sip coffee in your private space while enjoying views of the lush grounds and listening to the birds and the mild rushing of water. Unwind on soft seating while watching television, Apple TV, working on your laptop, or just enjoy taking in what nature has to offer. Don't be surprised to see a deer or a fox. For your convenience, we have a guest refrigerator, microwave and sink for your use. Of course, feel free to stroll the grounds or relax on the deck, where the birds put on a show all day long while frequenting the feeders. If you prefer to be out and about, you will appreciate the convenience of having plenty of off-street parking and being a short distance, one half mile, from the local train to Center City Philadelphia.
We welcome our guests via the main front door (to the left of the carport.) There is an electronic locking system mounted to the right of the door and I will furnish the code upon, or just before your arrival. The lock requires the five digit code to be entered followed by pushing the red button. Close the door tightly behind you to ensure a tight seal so that the lock may re-engage. The two bedroom suite closes off to the rest of the floor. Feel free to use the sitting area down the hall from your suite to relax and unwind. Please keep the door at the bottom of the steps closed at all times for your privacy, quiet and when you are not there to keep the pets out.

We will provide coffee, tea, small breakfast accoutrements and any guidance or assistance that you may need.
As you may have seen is some of the reviews, we have a "doorbell" named Tyson - he is a 100 pound sweetheart of a German Shepherd. He may bark but is extremely passive. He is all bark and no bite :-)
To keep Tyson in line ;-), we have three cats. They are Brigid, Isabelle and Nero. They are in and out all day and do not bother with people too much.
Our hiking trails start on our property and continue into the Wissahickon Valley Park, which boasts 57 miles of trails through the 1,800 acre gorge of meadows and forest.
Please keep the door at the bottom of the steps closed. This is for your privacy, quiet and to keep the pets from going downstairs.
No smoking inside.
No commercial use of premises.
No additional guests without prior permission by owner.
While the space is very clean and carpet-free, I cannot guarantee a dander-free environment. Please book with that in mind if you are sensitive. I would not want you to be uncomfortable during your stay.
We do not lock our animals away. Some guests have stayed that do not want pets around them and have asked that they are locked away.
Sorry - we do not discount the space.

I am a business professional and my husband is an architect. We renovated this award winning modern home several years ago, and love sharing our piece of history in the park. Three of our children are off to college, making this the perfect time to open our home to others from around the world. We stayed in an AirBNB in Barcelona for one week and were sold on the idea from there. We enjoy travel, hiking, fishing, cooking and entertaining.
I look forward to meeting you soon. . .
