On the shores of Lake Mendota across from the Capital. We are steps from Gov Nelson State Park with 5 miles of hiking/skiing trails. Enjoy the spectacular lake view from sunny decks as you sip your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Wander down to the lake for a swim!
Our Lakeside Room has a Queen Bed and an adjacent room with a Twin. Our Blue Room has a Queen Bed and an adjacent small loft with a futon. Each room has private bath.
Our guests say, "It's the view"! Enjoy the beautiful Lake Mendota panorama with your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Even in inclement weather guests have enjoyed watching storms pass by from our cozy living rooms. When you book with us you will be the only guests since we only rent to one "group" at a time--whether two or five. Our Lakeside Room has a Queen bed, private bath. It has an adjoining room with Twin Bed. Sliding glass doors open out onto a deck overlooking Lake Mendota. Our Blue Room also has a Queen bed, private bath, and a unique adjoining loft/nook with double futon. You would have your choice of the Lakeside and/or Blue Room to accommodate up to 5. Above 2, each additional guest is $25. We put out morning coffee, tea, and a yogurt/fruit/bagels/toast breakfast for you to start your day.
You have access to the entire house with the exception of our upstairs bedroom area and lower level which are our living quarters. In addition to the 3 bedrooms, you can settle in either of two sunny living rooms, kitchen and dining areas. If you want to cook dinners, just let us know so we can coordinate to have the kitchen open for you. Outdoors, enjoy lounging on either the upper or lower decks, hang out on the pier, as well as the yard areas. We have a two person canoe and a one person kayak for your enjoyment. Governor Nelson Hiking/skiing Trails are right behind our house. Lake Mendota is, of course, is great for just viewing.

We do live here and are happy to share information and our love of all that goes on in the Madison/Middleton area.... Great parks, free festivals and musical events, the farmers' markets, fine local restaurants and breweries, biking and hiking trails, etc.
We also greatly respect the quiet privacy of guests and can be nearly invisible to accommodate your privacy.
Regarding accessibility, there are steps leading down to our house, and many more leading down to the lake and some of the outdoor areas.
This is truly a quiet relaxing neighborhood and our spot is your place for the same. Enjoy a quiet glass of wine or two outdoors, but this is not a party house or environment.
Relax and have fun.
No smoking please--indoors or on decks.
Sorry, though we love dogs, we had some incidents involving neighbors and had to stop accepting pets.
My husband, Drew, and I love to travel--camping, hiking, biking. Family adventures are the best and we still go on many of our travels with our daughters and their friends. A unique place to stay always adds memories and enhances the adventure. We would love to share our home with you for your visit to Madison/Middleton. You might be a first timer to the area and we'd love to help you discover the Madison experiences that we enjoy such as Saturday Farmer's Market, Wednesday Concerts on the Square, Jazz at Five, Central Park Festivals and other Music Festivals, bike trails, shopping State Street, Brewery Tours, and on and on. Or, you might be a regular to the area-- visiting friends, family (a UW Student perhaps), attending UW games, concerts, or other events. We'd love to be your home base while you're here.
