I can't emphasize enough how great of an experience staying at Mona's place was. She was kind enough to stay up late the night arrived when my flight was delayed to make sure I could get settled okay, and was very communicative and considerate during the entire stay. The apartment itself was perfect. It is located on a quiet street, with a balcony overlooking a park and the city, but is also in easy reach of shopping, restaurants, hiking, and more. If you like to walk, it is easy to get just about anywhere in less than 40 minutes, with the center being only about 20 minutes away. Otherwise you can take the 37 bus or the tram, which brings you to the center in about 10 minutes. I was here for a two week conference at the University of Oslo, and the location was perfectly located between the university and the center of town. I could walk to the university in about 25 minutes, or take the 17/18 tram to get there in about 15 minutes or so.
The apartment has really nice work space, a laundry machine, a dishwasher, a full kitchen, a dining table, a nice bathroom with a shower, and a spacious closet. It is compact, but has nice windows which you can open and enjoy the cool Oslo air! The bed was very comfortable and I had no trouble feeling at home right away.
There are at least three grocery stores within about a 5 minute walk, one of which, Bunnpris, is open 7 days per week (many other shops close on Sundays). Oslo can be an expensive city, but I found it affordable and easy to go to the store to find things to cook for breakfast and dinner in the apartment. There are also many other dining options in range if you prefer to eat out, including cafes for breakfast. Cafe Laundromat is a particular highlight!
Again, I could not recommend this place enough! Thanks again to Mona for a wonderful experience.
