Beware!! While the apartment is nice, it is mismanaged to a great extent. Due to many problems we had, it was revealed to us that the apartment is owned by a company and Enrique is only a employee serving as a front person. There was nobody that took responsibility, even when we asked for the person in charge. During our first stay, we had the internet service suspended one morning because they didn't pay the bills! They also couldn't provide a pot when we requested one, and many kitchen accessories still had stickers glued to them, signaling that the apartment was put together in a rush. With their permission, we left our luggage while we were on a short trip, and upon our return around 7 pm on a Saturday night, the electricity was suspended! It was the same problem as with the internet service (someone didn't pay), only that this time the service was going to be suspended all weekend. While talking to Enrique about this, he gave us many different stories in succession. First that we should leave and get a reimbursement for our stay. Then to wait 15 minutes for an electrician sent by the company to deal with our problem. Then to actually wait for 50 minutes! We had to leave at this point, packing our luggage in darkness which led to my spouse's wrist being injured.
Because Airbnb takes a few days to arrange, we did not have the opportunity to find equivalent accommodations for the same price. Since it was late Saturday night and we had been traveling all day, we decided to stay a nearby hotel which was going to be safe. We informed Enrique about the extra costs at the hotel, together with the extra living costs from lost food (which rotted in the fridge without electricity) as well as laundry costs. He said originally that on top of the reimbursement we would get a compensation that seemed fair to us. This was the point at which he revealed that he can't take responsibility since he was just an employee of this company. The "company" ended up giving us the reimbursement and 50 soles for transport, denying all responsibility and only delivering the money after insisting by calls and messages. In the end, the person that delivered the money negated Enrique's story of being an employee, even when we have a forwarded message from this company to Enrique about the compensation. In a nutshell, waves and waves of misinformation and nobody stepping up to take responsibility, even when we requested to speak with the person in charge. Not what we had planned for our honeymoon and definitely not the experience that airbnbs should provide!
