Awful - no hot water, not mosquito proof, no AC. When I complained, the owner, Jacky, promised to make everything right. The caretaker cobbled together a mosquito screen for the bedroom and bathroom, and an AC was installed in the bedroom on the 3rd day of my stay. So I was pretty much confined to a bedroom whenever I was in the house, and mosquito spraying the bathroom and kitchen daily. The owner never followed up and never 'made it right'.
Additionally, the location is listed as Gros Islet, which is actually a large suburb, and the location map shows it close to the Rodney Bay Village beach which is very misleading. It is actually in Bois D'Orange which is NOWHERE near the beach.
The house is listed as 3 beds and 1.5 baths - the resident caretaker permanently occupies 1 bedroom, so it should be advertised as a room for rent in a shared house, and there's only 1 shared bathroom. The house is poorly appointed and neglected, so it should be described as 'BASIC'. I have visited most Caribbean islands including the undeveloped ones, and this is the worst place I have ever stayed in. If I could have found alternative lodging at such short notice, I would have walked out.
All round: misleading advertising, plenty mosquitos, hot, and an owner who doesn't give a damn. The only saving grace is the caretaker, Andy, who is very welcoming, helpful and friendly and does the best he can with limited resources, and the neighbours are great.
