All our electrical appliances are in perfect working order. I personally check all regularly.
Our dryer and washing machine are only one year old; they are plugged in and have an on/off switch on the wall. The clothes dryer works perfectly, but first the power switch on the wall needs to be turned on. The door of the washing machine is also working perfectly; to close you have to hold the catch on the door, close and then release catch gently. The immersion which heats the water is a basic on /off switch.
Pots and pans are scrubbed clean and sometimes this has a tendency to leave scratches which cannot be helped. The mattresses are semi orthopedic and other guests have commented on how comfortable our beds are. Sometime it’s hard to achieve a balance here, as some guests like a very firm mattress while others a soft one.
Our check in time is on the Airbnb website. www.airbnb.ie/manage-listing/6543373/check-in. I did not tell guest that she could check in early.
I suppose communication was poor between guest & myself from the outset. I presumed that guest was aware of the check in time and I didn’t expect her and her family until after 2pm. I was surprised when I received a call that morning telling me that she was almost near the cottage. I gave her the address told her there was no problem leaving her luggage.
I sent an mail welcoming guest to Burren cottage. When I didn’t get a reply I presumed if guest required directions she would have requested them. Guest mentioned she was checking a map Guest also had a sat nab.
I am more than surprised and disappointed at the comments in this review. I met and spoke to guests on a number of occasions during their stay and asked if everything was ok, guest assured me that they had settled in and all was well. If I was made aware of any problems I could have rectified them quite easily.
As guest quoted, "It would be better as a next day location". I totally agree, on this occasion, with an elderly person and a little girl, it would have been a good idea to check into a place close to the airport for a night to recover from jet lag especially after travelling such a long distance.
