Private room in 1 1/2 story house in rustic setting surrounded by preserved farmland just outside of Gettysburg. Historic area - Friendly atmosphere, use of spacious kitchen and comfortable living room. Internet. An hour from Baltimore and 1 & 1/2 hour from Washington, D.C. There are no house numbers - the numbers are on the mailbox.
The room is upstairs, with a suite of antique furniture. The house is an attractive one and one-half story located on an acre lot with lots of trees, surrounded by farmland. It's only a mile to town, but it truly feels like the country. It's very peaceful, with a lovely view of the woods across the field and a fenced backyard. There is also a large, granite outcropping, just like the rocks at Devil's Den! Lots of wildlife - deer, songbirds, wild turkeys, and even the occasional groundhog:). Spacious kitchen, with a huge living and dining room area. Full baths both upstairs and down. There is a large deck along two sides of the house.
You're welcome to use the living room and kitchen, just tidy up when you're finished, please. Guests are also welcome to use the deck, which runs along two sides of the house. I do go to bed early, so please be thoughtful about noise. No smoking or drinking to excess, or entertaining additional guests, please.

I am home a lot. I'm happy to respect your privacy, or chat if you want. I love history, and have lived in the area for 40 years. Late night activities would be a problem if they are noisy. Otherwise, you're welcome to make yourself at home.
I have a very small dog, a poodle (so she doesn't shed). She is very cute and sweet and loves to make new friends. She will not be in your space at all, and stays in the office when I am out. I provide a continental breakfast which means very simple, coffee, tea, fruit, donuts/toast as requested Being in the country near farm crops, in the fall some "critters" decide they'd like to spend the winter with me. They are quickly dispatched.
Just simple courtesy is the best rule! No smoking, please.
Love people, enjoy watching Masterpiece Theater, love my little dog, Misty.
Have been a Realtor for 30+ years and it's time to slow down on that front --
so this idea appeals for a little extra income. Love history and nature -- my home is perfect for this!
I will be available to answer questions guests may have, but otherwise I will mind my own business.
In my 20s I worked for the Department of Defense in Bangkok, Thailand. Then "love walked in" and I got married (smile). Feel very fortunate to have managed to travel around the world, but could not be happier than settled here in Gettysburg. As a fan of history, particularly the American Civil War, this is the perfect spot for me.
