This is a very comfortable upscale home on the Grand River, 20 minutes from the airport, downtown Lansing, and Michigan State University. The guest area is the entire lower level which features a complete kitchen and walkout to a deck overlooking the river. It's a great place to relax and watch the river flow by and enjoy a very quiet environment near Lansing and MSU.
This is a very comfortable, playful space on the Grand River, with art throughout the house, a grand piano (for those who play), a home theater area, and a full second kitchen available in the rental area. There are actually two bedrooms available for multiple singles or couples who may wish to convene here. I would ask for an additional $50 for persons using both bedrooms, but AirBnB requires me to separate list the second room, which I don't want to do as to avoid having two sets of guests who don't know each other in the house. I do not book guests into the separate rooms who are not a part of the same booking.
The rental area is the lower level of the house with walkouts to the yard, gardens, and river. Guests have access to most of the house: laundry; kayaks; bikes; full kitchen in the lower level rental area or anything in the main kitchen that anyone might need. I cook and entertain a lot, so there is a wide variety of cooking pots/pans and utensils options available.

I'm as interactive as guests like to be. Privacy is totally respected. If schedules coincide, I'm typically good to cook something. On warmer days, I enjoy grilling and have dinner on an outside deck overlooking the river. Guests are free to join me. If people are around during evening hours, chances are that a bottle of wine will be uncorked and shared. Summer: If you've not kayaked before, I'm happy to show you how. This is a very easy stretch of the river to navigate.
This is not a rental of the full house; I'll be here most of the time, but in summer months, I'll generally be outside. Also, owing to the amount of artwork and electronics in the house, this is likely not the ideal place for people with very young children.
I may occasionally have a small dog (Silky Terrier) here. If you have a small dog you would like to bring, just check with me. Sorry not to be able to accommodate large dogs or cats. No smoking of any type. A sense of humor and good puns are always appreciated.
In the photo, I'm the guy with the hat only a tourist would wear visiting Borobudur Temple in Java last year. Anyway, when living closer to the Michigan State University campus years ago, I rented out rooms to international grad students and enjoyed their stories, cultural introductions, and cooking, to name a few things. I've travelled a fair bit since then and have always enjoyed meeting people and sharing life stories and interests.
I seem to have more interests than time permits exploring these days, but music composition, cooking, gardening, kayaking, and yoga are current priorities. As is meeting people and learning what's important and interesting (and funny) to them.
I'm professionally employed with a fairly flexible schedule to meet people at the house, and can always find common interests with people.
