Charming cottage situated between Arezzo and Florence.
Casa Scaletta, fully equipped cottage built in the shadow of the castle of Porciano, on the remains of the ancient walls, and lovingly restored and decorated by the castle owner.
It is composed of a large living/dining area with comfortable seating, a kitchen, two large bedrooms and two bathrooms.
This pretty and bright cottage opens onto the grounds of the Castle.
A rustic short antique stone staircase leads up to the living/dining room area with comfortable seating and a wood table for 6 people.
The equipped kitchen is next to it (gas burners, electric oven, microwave oven, refrigerator and washing machine etc.). On the same floor, there is a bathroom with shower.
A few steps down take you to the bedrooms and the second full bathroom, with a skylight and a very ancient marble washbasin.
The two bedrooms, one double and one triple, are large and comfortable. From the master bedroom you can access a tiny, charming reading spot, with window overlooking the countryside
Beautiful views from the windows of the tiled roofs of Porciano and the Casentino valley.
Outdoors a table for six, chairs and deck chairs are set up for your enjoyment directly opposite the castle and its garden.
The owner of the Castle of Porciano has restored the stone cottages respecting their original look and decorated them with family furniture which gives a feeling of coziness and warmth.
In this small village, at the foot of its Castle, you will be able to experience and explore the natural and artistic beauty of this lesser known corner of Tuscany. The village stands at 600 meters above sea level, and is only one mile away (1.5 km) from the local town of Stia. Stia is a lovely small town built where the Arno and Staggia rivers meet.
The Romanesque church in the square surrounded by archways is one of the most beautiful pievi (parish churches) of the Casentino. In the summer you will be able to enjoy the park along the river where you can sun yourself, wade or swim in the clear waters of the Arno river.
The sources of the Arno are very near Stia so the water is still clean and pure. In the mountains around Stia and Porciano the National Park Reserve known as the Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi offers a number of hiking trails and walks.
Available for guests, free wifi in all the indoor and outdoor areas and private parking within the estate or in a nearby area. Outdoor tables, chairs and deck chairs for our guests enjoyment. Private guided tour of the Castle. Welcome basket with local products.

My name is Martha Specht Corsi and I am the owner of Castello di Porciano. This beautiful tower was restored by my parents, George Specht and his wife Countess Flaminia Goretti de Flamini, as a romantic love nest.
For this reason, this magnificient place is not just a business for me: it is my house, my life, the place where my heart resides even when I am far away.
My life is divided between Porciano and Florence, where I live with my family.
I wish Porciano to be a haven for those interested in the charm of this special residence. We can offer you a unique travel experience in an exclusive venue to relax and explore this hidden and untouched part of Tuscany.
