Interaction with Guests
We like to meet our guests in person, but if we're away we'll arrange collection of the keys from an agreed place.
We are in Stoke Newington (Stokey to the locals), a beautiful part of London famous for its arty residents, Victorian terraces and village-like shopping street. Around us are lovely local pubs and cafes, and we are close to Church Street with its design and interiors shops and only a short walk to trendy Dalston, with its great bars and restaurants.
- Broadway Market (great foody hangout),
- Regents Canal for strolls in the sunshine,
- Columbia Road flower market,
- Shoreditch for high-end eating, drinking and shopping,
- Angel Islington and Upper Street for more great shops and restaurants.
We also have a small but peaceful park on the corner of our block complete with community orchard.
If you like to keep fit we have yoga and pilates studios around the corner and there is also a good public leisure centre/gym close by, and of course the larger Clissold Park which is perfect for jogging.
We are in Zone 2 (out of 6) in the London transport system so relatively central.
We are well connected by London's famous red buses that can take you directly either south into the Shoreditch & the City or south west into Central London and the West End.
We are also a 10-12 minute walk to the London Overground stations of Dalston Kingsland and Dalston Junction which connect you to the tube system (2 stops from Highbury & Islington). An Uber will usually cost you £12-£17 from the centre (Soho, British Museum, Oxford Circus). We are able to sell you parking permits if required (£3.50 per day).

Our house manual is full of tips and recommendations to help make your trip great - we'll send that to you in advance.
Other Things to Note
We have a cat. She is super cute and very friendly but clearly don't stay here if you have any cat related health issues. The cat is fed by an auto-feeder, so you do not need to feed her, but she does like cuddles and head rubs.
There are stairs galore. Being an old house over four floors, sadly we are not disability-friendly.
We keep our house tidy but we have lots of stuff - it's cosy and homely, but not a hotel.
Our area is relatively quiet (we are on a backstreet) however there may be a small amount of street noise at the front of the house, particularly on weekends.
We are pretty laid back but we expect guests to be considerate - as we would in other people's homes.
Guests are not allowed to bring pets (we allowed another dog once and didn't see the cat again for 2 days).
Please do not invite additional guests home or throw parties / play loud music: our neighbours don't like it.
Smoking is not allowed inside the property but is allowed in the garden if ashtrays are used.
