Cozy 1BR is privately accessed through a backyard garden oasis that will almost make you forget you're within walking distance of so many urban amenities. Ideally located between Piedmont and Grand Lake shopping areas, near fwy/transbay bus/carpool.
Warm yourself by the gas-fired stove on chilly nights, or sip a cup of fresh-brewed coffee in the garden outside on milder days. Fully-equipped eat-in kitchen features a gas range, convection toaster oven and microwave. A queen bed with memory foam mattress comfortably sleeps two adults. Children are welcome and a sleeping roll can be provided for a single child to sleep on in addition to two adults.
Guests have full use of the garden area. Step outside to the sounds of the raised pond. Gather fresh eggs from the chicken coop for breakfast. Curl up with a book on the bench in the side yard. Catch some air on the skateboard swing. Guests also have the use of the washer and dryer (separate entrance, on same level).

We are a family of three. Florent hails from Paris, France, Laura from just outside of New York City. Laura's daughter Avery was born right here in the Bay Area. Both she and Avery are fluent in Spanish. All three of us hecka love Oakland and enjoy sharing our favorite local haunts with guests. However, we all also work/go to school full-time and are not around much during the week. So we are equally happy to leave guests to their own devices if that is their preference. Laura is always accessible via email or text if you have a pressing question about anything.
Although we do have a cat -- the ultra-affectionate Sugar Spoon -- the rental unit has always been strictly off limits to her, so guests with allergies to cat hair need not fear.
We ask that guests who wish to sit outside in the garden at night be mindful of the child sleeping in the bedroom directly above.
Absolutely no smoking inside the apartment; but it's okay to smoke in the yard. Please just dispose of your butts appropriately.
We do try to minimize the amount of trash we send to the landfill and ask that guests separate out recyclable and compostable items. We understand that this may not be intuitive to everyone and are happy to explain what goes where!
