2 bedrooms are available in my house in the Faculty neighborhood adjoining Smith College. One queen mattress upstairs and one twin downstairs. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Newly renovated with a modern interior and classic exterior, my house is a 12min walk from Smith along the river, and 20min from downtown (by bike: 5, 7 min). The couch is not for sleeping: if you'd like one more bed we can pull out a mattress.
The space is light-filled, with high cielings, and many windows looking out onto my garden. The whole house has just been renovated.
The master bedroom and the guest bedroom. There are two bathrooms: one with bath and shower, and the other with a shower. The other upstairs room is the one I use for storage and stays closed. All other spaces are yours to use: kitchen, living room, dining room, and study. There is ample street parking and a driveway.

GUIDE FOR 93 VERNON St.
The access codes are on the back of the router in the office downstairs. They are also on a card in the master bedroom
The golden key that says “Schlage” opens the front door. The small silver key opens the shed.
The thermostat is next to the hallways cabinets. Select the desired temperature and press “hold”. There is no AC.
Washer is below Dryer. Press “on” first to operate machine. Select “Normal function” then press “start.” Same with dryer, except that you must empty moisture contents of dryer every few dry cycles. Tray is in the upper left, pull it out. The dryer is electric, ie, not connected to a vent.
It’s a steam oven, with electronic touch screen. Press “on/off” to turn it on. Use simple options first like “convection plus,” which appears in the first screen, after you turn it on. You can set the duration and temperature on the next screen after you press "convection plus".
If you would like to use other cooking options, PLEASE follow the instruction manual which is on top of oven in cabinet, next to the cookbooks. When familiar with manual, you can use “Master Chef” options which are listed by type of food (vegetable, bread, pasta, meat etc...). You may have to pull out water tray and condensation tray when asked by the operating system. Press “lift panel” to fill water tray with water or to empty condensation tray. It may ask you to remove filter, which is in the back of the oven and slides out. Please clean the inside of the oven with non-abrasive cleaners like the “Miele spray bottle” which is at the top of stairs to the basement, at the top of the cabinet.
To turn ON press “select cycle”. Then press it again to select the kind of cycle you want. Then press start. I usually do "normal wash". There is also an option for high temperature which I usually use to get dishes very clean. There is dishwasher soap under the sink. Do not use any other soap, as this will cause overflow.
TELEVISION, DVD, APPLE TV:
The black Samsung remote controls the television. I use the playstation controllers to play DVDs and of course video games. The metallic, small remote controls the apple TV.
I don’t have national or cable channels, only internet tv and dvd.
To use the Apple tv player, hit “source” on the black remote and choose either HDMI 1 or 2. Make sure you press “power” on the Apple remote before doing so. Please do not purchase any items, as they will be billed to me. Feel free to use my Netflix, found among the first screen options. You can use Airplay from your computer or iPhone to project whatever is on your phone or computer to the screen.
To use the playstation for watching DVDs, press power on. Then from the “source” menu on the Samsung remote, choose the other HDMI channel. Hit the playstation logo on any controller plugged in. From there scroll right or left till you find the DVD icon and select it.
There is an electronic bidet on the toilet. Press the buttons on the controller for the appropriate spray. There is toilet paper next to the toilet.
TRASH AND RECYCLING:
The black trash receptacle near the pantry is for non-recyclables.
The bins for recyclables (glass, aluminium, plastic bottles) are on the left of the sink, in the long door that slides out.
For paper recycling, use the bin under the kitchen sink. All trash must be taken to Valley Recycling Center which is a 7 minute drive away between noho and easthampton. 234 Easthampton Rd, Northampton, MA 01060. They usually charge $1 per large trash bag and all recyclables are free.
OTHER KITCHEN APPLIANCES:
Juicer: It is already assembled properly. You place carrots, celery or cut up fruit through the top loader. Make sure you put the cups with handles below the two drainage holes, or else there will be a big mess. You can rinse everything off with running water, except the black piece with the sieve, which must be washed by hand with a brush.
Food processors: They are already assembled. Please do not lose the small parts. Place them next to machine after use. Please wash the parts immediately by hand.
Rice cooker: Use 1 part rice to two parts water.
Panini toaster: Turn the knob to heat up. Please make sure it is turned off when you leave the house. The light will turn off when it’s off. When it’s flashing both green and red, that means you’ve reached the optimal heating temperature and you should think about removing the bread. The griddles are removable and dishwasher-safe.
Please water my plants if they look dry. Every three days is fine. The cactii only need to be watered once a month.
Please use the colored plates only, they are purple and blue. There are small white plates too. The white china closest to the dinner table are a set that I use for special occasions only and must be carefully washed by hand.
Be careful not to use candles right under the central lamp as they can burn through the plastic above.
It is in the study room downstairs. Do not open both doors at the same time as this makes the shelves top heavy. Feel free to watch any DVD you like.
BIKE + LOCK:
The bike is in the shed. The key with black plastic base unlocks it. There are lights on the front, press once for continuous light, twice for flashing, and once more to turn it off.
