Enjoy Hawaii in your home away from home with your private bedroom, queen bed and your own bathroom. My house is open and spacious for you to have privacy if you wish. Just 45 minutes from most Big Island attractions. Taxes included. Check-in/check-out times flexible.
Welcome to my 2 bedroom and 3 bath home. It has an open floor plan so it's spacious enough you can have your own privacy if you choose. Plenty of parking along the right side of the house. The back lanai has views of my terraced lava jungle garden and is a wonderful entertainment space with television, grill and plenty of seating. Perfect for having a quiet cup of coffee in the morning or grilling dinner (I recommend picking up some fish from Suisan Market). The 1/2 acre yard has state land on 2 sides so it seems private even though you are in down town Hilo.
Queen size bed and closet in your bedroom with a small table where you can enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine and plan your adventures. You have a copy of the "blue bible" to the Big Island (THE BIG ISLAND REVEALED) in your room. It is a great book that shares all the best and secret spots in Hawaii.
Your private bathroom is next to your bedroom (the sink in this bathroom is sluggish... Fine for brushing teeth, but I wouldn't use it to shave... there is a mirror in the shower for shaving. The hot water in the sink is very slow but the shower and toilet work great!) There is another full bath in the laundry room, if needed. Two big screen televisions: one in the living room and one on the lanai. Wifi with Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. Living room has large comfortable couch for lounging (on rainy Hilo days). One small television in bonus room with workout equipment (free weights, bands, yoga mats, DVDs) and a futon.
There is a fully furnished kitchen for all your cooking and baking needs. Feel free to store food in the fridge and pantry as needed. Table & chairs on the lanai are wonderful for relaxing. There is also gas grill. Help yourself to coffee/tea.

My boyfriend, Cameron, and I are happy to converse with guests as much as they choose when we are home from work. I have been all over the Big Island and can give plenty of recommendations of my favorite secret spots! If we are having friends over for dinner my Airbnb Guests are always welcome to join!
My boyfriend, Cameron, is currently living with me.
I have an inside cat (Frank) and an outside cat (Isabel). Both are friendly. Isabel has sharp claws. Frank can go outside.
I adopted a 13 year old golden retriever (Guava). She is an outside dog. Rarely barks. Is gentle and sweet.

Welcome! I'm so excited to meet you. When I bought my house I wanted a place where family and friends could spend time together and enjoy each others company indoors and out.
I am happy to share my home and enhance your Big Island experience with the same Aloha that has been shared with me.
I would love to share my insights about the island and my favorite destinations. My favorite book on the Big Island - The Big Island Revealed- is in your room so you can plan your sight seeing.
-There are no real rules of the house besides being respectful and picking up after yourself (I.e. doing your own dishes).
-Please let me know immediately if you have questions, concerns, needs or any problems while you are staying with me. I want you to be happy and I want to accommodate you the best that I can. I would rather you ask, then to guess or not have what you need. I can be reached at any time via phone or text.
-Posted in your room is the WiFi password and emergency phone numbers.
-Please park to the right side of the house in the gravel driveway. This is off the street. Your car will be safe. I highly recommend a rental car because this is a rural area and there is limited public transportation.
-Feel free to use the kitchen, store your food (please do not keep food in your room because the tropical environment attracts bugs) and help yourself to coffee/tea . If you need help working the Keurig, I am happy to help. (I do not keep milk/creamer because it always goes bad because no one uses it, if you need it for your coffee).
-I encourage you to ask questions and please share any insight that would improve your experience. You can tell me personally or leave the feedback privately in the second box in the airbnb review.
-Come and go as you please, there are no time restrictions.
-Take off your shoes when you enter, a good place to keep them is inside the front door on the carpet.
-If you would like a hard sided cooler for a beach trip, just ask! I do provide a soft cooler, which is in your closet.
-Beach towels are in the hall closet for you to use.
-Your bathroom sink can drain slow and the hot water to the bathroom sink does not work. Please avoid have the water run full blast so the drain does not back up. There is a mirror in the shower for you to use to shave.
-Besides the linens, the bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hair spray, blow dryer and some other toiletries if you forget something.
-The brown outside cat has to say out (she has claws) and the white inside kitty can go outside (if he runs out when you are leaving it is not a big deal). Both cats are very friendly.
-My 14 year old golden retriever stays outside. She is so loving, occasionally barks at the cats.
-I would keep your bedroom door closed if you do not want the cat to use your suitcase as a bed (every cat I have met loves suitcases).
-Pets are allowed.
-Smoking is allowed outside away from windows only.
-I will take care of dirty linens when you leave, but if you need something, just ask.
-If you are staying longer than a week and would like your sheets changed, please let me know.
-Feel free to use the washer (in laundry room) and dryer (on lanai). The laundry soap uses 1/2 a tablespoon per load.
I feel like when you share a home you kind of become part of the family.
It is important for you to feel comfortable. So feel free to share any particular creature comforts you may need and I will try to accommodate. Also share any pet peeve you have prior to your arrival so I can try my best to have everything set up for you.
I came to the Big Island in 2006 as a travel RN and never left. A few years ago I bought a home and now hope to share Hawaii with you (and make it more affordable for you to visit this wonderful place). I love the outdoors and to be in the mountains and the ocean... I think this balances out my love of food and fine dining.
My fiancé Cameron also shares the home with me. He recently moved to the Big Island after several trips and adventures here.
