The apartment is absolutely gorgeous. It has all necessary amenities, great interior design and plenty of attention on detail. The balcony, one of the selling points of the place, is huge and very comfy, with a view towards the Varna sea, lake and downtown. The hosts Tanya and Hristo are very friendly and kind. They have done a marvelous job with the apartment. We had a great stay and we are definitely coming back next summer. Hristo and Tanya - thank you!
The apartment was absolutely amazing. I stayed there with my three friends and we enjoyed every moment there. The apartment has all you can need and even more! Also, the location is just perfect: marketplace was really close, also, supermarket is just over the street and walking to center takes 10 minutes. Now what made this apartment really special was the rooftop, a huge area for only you and your companions. The pool was awesome! Hristo and Tanya are very friendly and helpful, they arranged taxi drive from airport to apartment and also on the way back. Most surprising thing was that in the middle of the week, we found that our sheets were changed. This apartment is even better than hotel! I would totally book the same apartment if I shall ever go back to Varna! Thank you, Hristo and Tanya
Host was kind, nice, in time and very welcoming. All details were described and upon the need of additional questions they were very responsive and provided good tips for maximizing experience. We all had a great time and especially our dog that enjoyed the pool with us all and at all times. View from the apartment was great and we all felt "above all". All amenities were as described.
What a delight it was to stay in this wonderful, characterful, spacious apartment, spread over two floors at the top of a 12 story apartment block. This is clearly a much-loved home and indeed for half the year, Hristo and his gorgeous girlfriend Tanya live there, so one doesn't get the feeling that this is a dedicated tourist apartment furnished with bog-standard Ikea tat; it's full of quirky nic-nacs and decoration, such as the circular mirror on the ceiling of the master bedroom...most entertaining ;-) ! The entrance hall and downstairs toilet is shared with the delightful mother of Hristo, who lives in the adjoining downstairs apartment, but she is utterly discreet and leaves you in total privacy, only entering the flat to water the plants by prior arrangement. Downstairs you'll find a well-stocked kitchen that has all you need if you plan to self-cater and is separated from the second bedroom by a sliding screen. Head upstairs to the master bedroom, which can be isolated from downstairs by an ingenious huge lightweight trap door, so parents can enjoy the entire upstairs space in privacy while the kids sleep below. The living room is next, with a large soft seating area around a low table, as well as a good sized dining table for more formal eating, while a wall of French windows open onto the enormous rooftop garden. This was a huge hit with the kids, thanks to the large paddling pool that provided much needed respite from the scorching heat (not a problem inside, as there is ample air-conditioning), while the hammock and Moroccan-style seating area provided a wonderful space to chill and take in the fantastic views of the city and harbour. What a romantic space, perfect for us to celebrate my 50th birthday and our 20th anniversary. Making love under the stars in the balmy fresh breeze is a memory we will both cherish for years to come! But perhaps the best part about staying here was the hosts themselves, who from the moment we arrived in Varna, went out of their way to make us feel welcome and provide everything we needed. Tanya came out in her car to find us when we were lost on our arrival, and even leant us her laptop for a couple of days when we couldn't get access to the full Airbnb site from my mobile, only the deeply frustrating mobile version (no maps or wish-lists, etc...rubbish!). She also provided lots of useful information, including recommending the wonderful living museum village of Jeravna, a must if you want to see a relatively unspoilt traditional Bulgarian village with beautiful wooden housing and very reasonably priced fabulous accommodation and food. We were sad to leave the place, but so happy to have met such lovely people who provided the perfect introduction to Bulgarian warmth and hospitality. We will be back!
