We had a very nice stay at Marias place. Everything was as described, and the house, Marias Garden and the view from the Balkony are beautiful! You have your own little apartment next to Marias house with your own kitchen, Livingroom and big balcony. We were only two but the place is perfect for a family trip or a group of travellers. The house is located very beuatifully in the hills beside of the river and we would recommend to Go there by car because there are no busstations near. Maria was very friendly and helped us a Lot when we couldnt find her adress. We can definitely recommend!
Maria was very hospitable, great host! Thank you for sharing your house, your family history, your vineyard history. Maria speaks good english and took time to explain the lifetime commitment to make a vineyard work. I will highly recommend her cosy place to anyone. NOTE: to find her place on GPS, you must put in her postal code. Ensure it is the area "Lourentim", otherwise you will ended in another village. Follow the GPS; you will get to a round about with a big bunch of grapes; follow the sign to LAURENTIM. The road becomes narrow, and you arrive at a little chapel, turn right onto rua do fundo do povo. The house is very LAST one on the narrow street.
Maria da Glória is a super host. She tried her best to make sure that we had everything we could need. Want some coffee or tea? Done. Need an ironing table? Here it is. By the way, there is a bottle of white wine from the hill across from us in the refrigerator. As the main house already had guests we stayed in a separate little house with one bedroom and ensuite bathroom. We also got to walk among the vines and pick up some oranges to bring back with us. The only note I would leave for others is the location. If you are taking a GPS, write "Lourentim" in it and not "Laurentim". (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) still has the old name of the village and if you simply write the name of the street, you will end up in another village.
