For artists, writers and musicians, the retreat offers something unique – an unspoilt environment and a simple lifestyle that will recharge your creative energies and enrich your artistic endeavors.
The retreat has three separate cabins that can accommodate up to sixteen people – perfect for special-interest groups who need a place free from all distractions from the outside world.
Or for anyone who just needs a place of unparalleled privacy and seclusion, to de-stress or de-tox periodically.

There is a permanent manager on the site, but we value and respect our guests privacy.
We welcome dogs to the retreat, but not cats or other animals. Only one dog per cabin, and it must be inside or on a leash at all times.
We do allow smoking on the retreat, but not in the cabins please.
We provide free WiFi on the retreat, but it is a satellite connection with limited bandwidth, so please do not stream video or use other high-bandwidth services. Also, the WiFi only operates from 8am to 10pm (to save power).
We provide firewood, but please be considerate in your usage. If you expect to keep your cabin at 20+ degrees 24 hours a day, you will burn through a weeks worth of normal firewood usage each day.
We rely on solar energy for all our power and rain for all our water, so please be sparing with both - turn out lights if you don't need them on, keep your showers short, and be understanding should we have to turn on the generator or pumps for a few hours.
People generally come to our retreat for the peace and quiet. Please respect the other guests on the retreat by not making too much noise. If you expect to do so (e.g. you are a musical group that want to use our bush stage), please let us know this when you book, and will ensure that this is okay with our any guests tat might be here during your stay.

After 40 years working in stuffy offices, we decided a tree-change was in order. Now, as full-time managers of the Clyde River Retreat the work is physically more demanding, but the rewards and job satisfaction are far greater - we get to live in a really peaceful, beautiful and unspoiled part of Australia, and we also get to meet some wonderful people!
We would love you to come and experience it with us.
