Cosy, welcoming en suite double bedroom in Redbrick Cottage 15-20 minutes walk to the city centre (O'Connell Street/Parnell Square). Dublin's Strumpet City meets The Wire in Historic Ballybough. On the 123 bus route serving most major tourist sites.
This is a private room with double (135cm/4'6") bed and newly refurbished en suite bathroom exclusively for your use. It is ideally suited for 2 people.
I am currently renovating so apologies in advance for any disruption during your visit - I try to keep work to a minimum when guests are staying but sometimes have to balance this with availability of certain skilled trades. In 2016/7 I have priced low to take this into account.
Access to the city centre is very convenient - either on foot (15-20 minutes) or by bus (5-10 minutes)
Staying with me is very much an inner city living experience - an old redbrick cottage built circa 1850. Soak up the atmosphere of early 20th century Dublin when Alfred Hunter (who much later came to a bad end!) lived here in 1904 - Alfred is mentioned in James Joyce's definitive biography (Richard Ellmann) as the person Joyce modelled Leopold Bloom on. Joyce visited him here at least once for a stay following the funeral of a mutual friend. Today inside at least the cottage aims to be much more tranquil but retains a real sense of 19th Century living.
There may be some house upgrade works happening during your stay but in daytime only and it won't affect the quality of your stay.
Checkin is from 6pm-ish but sometimes if at weekend earlier if you need- later by arrangement. Checkout is 11 a.m
Guests have access to comfortable sitting area downstairs separate from bedroom if you wish to relax - I provide a light breakfast.

I love meeting my guests and if time allows having tea and a chat. I usually am in situ during your stay and will alert you well in advance re keys etc if I'm away and you are 'home alone'
Contact me in advance (i) for longer stay rates and (ii) if you need any more information.
Please respect that this is my family home. No smoking indoors. No unbooked guests. I have two small dogs.
I am currently renovating my new (and your temporary) home - an inner city centre cottage - which is fun and torture in equal measure! What I like most about being an air bnb host is meeting the people who pass through. I enjoy travelling too and especially have spent many idyllic hours visiting parks and gardens all over the US and Europe.
