My time at the oasis was wonderful. The casita was lovely- and just what I expected. Nancy got back to me immediately with every question I had- and even helped set up a boat trip out to the Marietas for me :) I didn't get a chance to meet her- but I did meet Lisa who was lovely and friendly. This place is quite rustic- which was what I expected and wanted- the rooms and bathroom/shower were open at about eye level- I'm on the taller side so I could see out the shower when I was in it- again nothing surprising to me as I had been to Yelapa before and knew what I'd be getting, but I would imagine if you hadn't you might be surprised. The sounds of more rural life are also very present. Again, definitely something I knew- and actually enjoyed... at dusk you could hear anything from roosters, dogs, crickets, geckos, to waves in the distance... bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to sound. All in all it was the perfect little oasis with very friendly staff... including the sweet pup and cats roaming the property...

We spent six nights in Casita #4. Communication before we arrived was a little difficult but once we were there it was great. Oasis is only about a half mile from the pueblo dock but the road is rough and there are a couple of steep hills. If you have more luggage than a backpack we recommend asking for assistance or hiring someone at the dock, there's usually someone waiting there. Nick came with a wheelbarrow to help us. He is a great young man and works very hard, hauling your luggage and around the property. Tip him well, it's worth every peso. If you speak Spanish spend some time talking with him.  Lisa was a great host. She gave us lots of information about the area and good directions to the places we wanted to go. She makes a darn good lemonade as well. The grounds are very pretty and usually peaceful. It is rural so expect to be awoken by the roosters, and sometimes the dogs, every morning. The birds get quite vocal after the roosters stop. The dogs and cats on the property are nice and if you're missing your own pets they're happy to be a substitute. The casita is small, the picture shown from the outside is actually two different rooms. The bed wasn't real comfortable, you hear the springs when you move but it wasn't the worst we've had in Mexico. There is no closet, there are some trimmed branches that you can hang things on. It is rustic with open walls so expect some bugs. We had a large toad hang out in our bathroom the better part of one day and then he hopped off at night. We enjoyed the experience but for some it might be too rustic. We had coffee and juice each morning and there was a brunch menu to purchase items from. The last night we were there they hosted a musical duo and had a dinner menu of four items. We had the chili rellenos and fish wrapped in banana leaves. Both were wonderful and reasonably priced. One of the best meals we had during our stay. The village is small, not a lot to see but the people are wonderful. The children are all learning English and like to practice their skills. It's a nice walk to the small waterfall. It is on this street you'll find the vendors selling tourist trinkets. Don't plan on eating there however, the food was horrendous! We made a day going to the large waterfall. We ordered BLATS from the brunch menu and had a picnic at the falls. Round trip it was about a five mile hike. It was our favorite day, highly recommended. For restaurants we liked Manguitos and El Pelon upriver from Oasis. In town Los Abuelos is not to be missed, great food and even better prices especially given the quality of the food. Cafe Bahia at the foot of the pier has great breakfast burritos....

Staying at the Oasis with Nancy was the best decision when searching for a place to stay in Yelapa. The grounds were gorgeous and all of the staff and locals who hang out at the oasis were some of the nicest people I've met. Even though I got sick a couple days into my trip, Nancy and the staff were very accommodating, and helped me out. If you are browsing Airbnb's in Yelapa and are unsure, this place really has it all and is in a prime location.

My wife & I had a great stay at the Oasis & Yelapa. The Oasis location is prime as it's a very short walk to the beach and into town. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in Yelapa. Nancy the host & one of the owners is awesome and we made a lot of friends with other people staying there. The casitas were of good size with private bathrooms. The Oasis has evening entertainment at times with live music which you can enjoy with dinner and drinks. Nancy prepared a continental breakfast every morning which included fresh papaya, bananas, granola, yogurt, pineapple and boiled eggs. As far as where to eat, would highly recommend Pollo Bollo's and 2 Grandmas which are in the small town. On the beach itself, Cocos has great soup, solid food, excellent service and drinks. It's to the left of domingos which is a bit of trap as the water taxi company seems to have a connect - ate there the first day and had horrible service all the way through and just okay food. Also, as far as food is concerned have a few meals at the Oasis. My only regret is not eating at least one dinner there. The food options they had prepared during the evening of live music played wonderfully by Lisa looked and smelled great. The prices are better than on the beach as well. If we hadn't eaten at domingos that night we would have sure ate at the Oasis. We did have brunch once which was excellent. There is a very interesting cool guy by the name of John whose artwork you'll see around the Oasis - if you're fortunate to meet him you can ask him anything about Oasis and he may even share some of his intriguing stories with you. Small waterfall 15 minute walk - large waterfall about a 45-50 minute hike - both worth it If you want to have a great getaway and have a once in a lifetime experience stay with plenty of affordable great food options in house and in the nearby town stay at the Oasis, if not well there are plenty of tourist traps and same old in PVR. As far getting there, taking the bus from the airport is very easy as you just need to get downtown to the Pier and then take the water taxi. We must have paid 40cents each for the bus. PVR bus completely safe. If you need to take a normal taxi I can't help there with the cost. Water taxi itself was about 10 bucks each way. Get money at the airport atm, no ATMs in Yelapa and credit cards aren't really accepted anywhere. Also, moment after you pick up your luggage ignore all the people trying to sell you time shares and offers of "free taxis" etc Airport ATMs best rate, don't fall for the booths horrible rate. When I make it back to Yelapa will be sure to stay at...

Nancy was a really nice host. She helped us with everything, for example to get the water taxi. It was a great experience for me as a German to live in a house like this with lot's of open spaces and I really liked it. The kitchen is very tasty! There are 2 shops in a walking distance of 10 minutes if you need something. Very nice stay!
