professor's sunny spacious view house-- just a mile uphill from ferry to Victoria BC, & a mile downhill from access road to Hurricane Ridge/Olympic National Park. Across the street are art center & art park; house itself is modern, peaceful, Zen, with two bathrooms (one with shower in master bedroom, & one with soaker tub & shower combo). From living room you can see Vancouver Island and Strait of Juan de Fuca; there's a spacious back deck w/glimpse of mountains.
Professor's second home in Port Angeles has upscale furnishings; is located across from art center and art park; you can walk to downtown Port Angeles if you like, and are able-- but there's a bus just steps away that goes there too. View location (you can see the Strait of Juan de Fuca with its shipping and sunsets). 3 bedrooms (one with private bathroom, others share a bathroom), kitchen has door to large sunny private porch with some mountain view (if you park on this level you can enter main floor with only four porch steps); open dining/living area with big picture windows towards sunsets and Strait. Race St to Hurricane Ridge National Park access is a few blocks away-- so the house is suitable for weeklong vacations allowing you to explore Olympic Mountains one day and Vancouver Island the next (Coho ferry to Victoria leaves from downtown Port Angeles-- leave your car and walk on and you can walk off right in the Inner Harbour of Victoria BC-- just bring your passport.).
Guests have access to the entire main floor of the house-- nobody else will be occupying simultaneously. Guests are also welcome to use the little studio in the sideyard.

Nobody else will occupy house at the same time guests are there. I'll hand off keys (or arrange for key transfer).
You can access Port Angeles most of the year either by vehicle (2 - 2 and a half hrs, by highway, from Seattle) or by Coho ferry from Victoria BC. Ferry crossing over the Strait of Juan de Fuca (an hour and a half). I can give you tips on good restaurants both in Port Angeles and (abundantly) in Victoria BC. To come to Port Angeles is to access a historied Olympic Peninsula logging town-- with immediate access to a beautiful national park in the Olympic Mountains, and direct ferry access to a world-renowned tourist mecca, Victoria BC on Vancouver Island.
It's a refuge we love-- and ask you to treat it (and its furnishings) considerately, cleaning up kitchen and bath, putting dirty linens in laundry basket, carrying out trash with you, and returning things as you found them. We are extra-considerate of our neighbors-- no pets, indoors smoking, parties or noise, please; we invite others simply to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

Dual citizen of the US and Canada, ping-pong back and forth between Seattle and Victoria BC. Professor of English literature and author of a number of books of poetry, essays and translations. Began non-profit CAREGIFTED in 2011 for respite and recognition of long-term family caregivers.
Moved from Seattle to Port Angeles to be closer to nature and to Vancouver Island (a ferry ride away). Port Angeles has a history as a fishing and logging town; I like its rural roots and access to Olympic National Park, as well as to Victoria BC. It is a community working hard to make room for the arts, and it has a few good restaurants too.
As a host, I'm big on fascinating vistas, clean accommodations, comfortable beds, well-supplied kitchen, and privacy for guests.
