We will mostly rent out when we are away, but can be called or messaged of course.
We are a family with 2 kids, and as such it's impossible to have the place pristine all the time, so guests have to work around that.
5 Dunollie Road Airbnb Guest Guide
Thanks for coming to look after our house. The basic offer is to help yourself and use whatever you are confident using, and can be sure to leave as you find it [ie in working order and a little bit untidy].
If you need help call Ariadne (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or Tony (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).
You’ll find the key to the house in a key safe. We’ll send you all the details you need to find the safe and open it, closer to the date of your arrival.
Please check out by noon on the day of departure unless otherwise arranged with us. When you leave, double lock then post your key through the letterbox.
Heating and Hot Water
We have gas central heating which is set to come on in the morning from 0630 to 0930 and in the afternoon from 1630 to 2230. There is a thermostat for adjusting the temperature on the wall in the hall at the bottom of the stairs.
Some things to take care of
Please don’t light a fire.
You’ll find mats and table linen in the sideboard behind the dining table, second draw down.
Take great care with the door to the airing cupboard by the sideboard as it is prone to come off its hinges. We suggest leaving it alone and slightly open. It needs repairing.
The wireless network is ‘naomi’ and the password is Rdawk1ns.
Please double lock the door at night and when you leave. Also please close and tilt the shutters when you leave and at night so people cannot see in from the street.
If you find yourself needing more towels, you can find these in the utility room next to the bathroom. There are more sheets, duvet and pillow cases in the pink chest in the master bedroom.
We will strip and change linen so don’t stress about dealing with that.
There are two bins in the cupboard to the left of the sink. Front is for non-recyclables as well as food waste, rear for recycling paper, plastic and tin. When you need to, empty the recycling waste into the green bin at the front of the house. All other waste goes in the black bin. Collection is on a Thursday morning.
Bin bags in 3rd draw down in set of draws beneath the knife stand.
You don’t need us to tell you about London. But there’s lots good in Kentish Town if you have tired feet after pacing around town all day. We frequent regularly – the Pineapple pub [Ascham St], Mehmet’s grocery store opposite the Pineapple, Earth health food store, Phoenicia Mediterranean supermarket, Doppia coffee warehouse all on the high street. There are lots of nice restaurants. Pizza East on Highgate Road; Burgers at ‘Dirty Burger’ behind Pizza East. The Tufnell Park Tavern on Tufnell Park Road is nice and kid friendly. St John’s Tavern near Archway Tube, about 15mins away, is a great gastro pub. Del Parc on Archway Road does great Tapas, but has to be booked in advance. Call ‘Holy Cow’ for a great take-away Indian meal, or Tiffin Tin [on Archway Road] for the same. There is a fantastic wine shop on Archway Road called ‘Wine Theatre’. Or, for a reasonable selection of European/US/SA /Oz wines, ‘Oddbins’ on Kentish Town High St is ok. A local highlight is ‘Ruby Violet’ ice cream parlour on Fortess Road.
We are equidistant between Kentish Town and Tufnell Park on the Northern Line, which takes you into the centre of town. You can also get overground trains at Kentish Town, or Kentish Town West. These can take you down to the Tate at Blackfriars, or to Kew Gardens, or to Dalston...
Local kids stuff
Swimming pool at Kentish Town baths on Prince of Wales Drive, or at Archway. Soft Play Area ‘Treetops’ at Talacre sports centre, Prince of Wales Drive. You are 15 mins walk from Hampstead Heath, which has a large playground and lots of grass. Small playground for little ones in Montpelier gardens, reached through an alleyway on Montpelier Rd nearby. Kids films on at Odeon Holloway and Camden Town.
Tablets in the cupboard under the sink. Don’t put the black Le Creuset pot in there. Otherwise everything else is fine.
We hope you enjoy your stay!
